Kialoa cruising: December 2014
http://kialoa.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, 25 December 2014. We arrived in Cabo San Lucas on Dec 21. The first day of winter, and went snorkeling the same day, no wet suit necessary! I realized at that moment that this was what I had spent all those long cold winter nights dreaming of, I am so incredibly grateful to be where I am living this life that I have dreamed of. This one was very tasty! Luckily no damage was done by this hitchhiker.it was on. Top of the windex at one point. A quiet moment on the way to Cabo San Lucas. I thought ...

Kialoa cruising: April 2015
http://kialoa.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 22 April 2015. On our way back to BC. Santa Rosalia is a bit of an anomaly in Mexico, founded by a french mining company in 1884 in order to exploit the deposits of copper in the area, the town was built out of lumber imported from the Pacific Northwest. It gives the town a very different feel to anywhere else we have been where cement block is the building material of choice. Our cozy quarters in San Carlos. San Carlos has some very dramatic scenery. A couple of them! Guaymas harbour is quite...

Kialoa cruising: October 2014
http://kialoa.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Friday, 24 October 2014. All the way to Morro Bay. The trip from Monterey to Morro Bay was uneventful, we left Monterey midday and had about an hour of lovely sailing weather before the wind got so light that we were only moving about two knots and the sails were slopping all over. So we motored once again……people say that you will be surprised at how much motoring you do when cruising and we are indeed surprised! On the approach to Morro Bay, Morro Rock stands at the entrance. The entrance to Morro Bay ...

Kialoa cruising: August 2014
http://kialoa.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, 31 August 2014. Newport has an big imposing bridge, lots of sea lions, and an interesting waterfront area. It is also home to the Rogue Brewery, a well known Oregon Beer. The sea lions get their own dock at the Newport waterfront, it is noisy and smelly and fascinating. So cute at 800 lbs! They also take over the breakwater. Newport has abundant fresh seafood. And whether it is guilt or gluten free it is. Cool bridge in the fog. Wednesday, 27 August 2014. Mal de Mer and unexpected pleasures.

Kialoa cruising: January 2015
http://kialoa.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 7 January 2015. At long last La Paz. San Jose del Cabo, the town square ready for xmas. We had a lovely Christmas Eve dinner with the crews of Adagio and Namaste in Puertos Los Cabos, a traditional meal of Pizza and barbequed Marlin. That was my first time eating Marlin and it was fantastic! Saying good bye to Josh, I think the big grins are from the. Christmas on the beach with Namaste and Adagio. One advantage of a smaller boat is that the ospreys. Of the taller masts! Party in a parking lot!

Kialoa cruising: Oh the places we have been!
http://kialoa.blogspot.com/2015/04/oh-places-we-have-been.html
Monday, 6 April 2015. Oh the places we have been! Since the end of January we have been cruising at a very relaxed pace. We are where we want to be and it has been wonderful. The part of Mexico where we are, on the southeast coast of the Baja Peninsula, is quite undeveloped and quiet with lots of excellent anchorages. There are many reasons to linger. And since a picture is worth a thousand words. Swimming with the sea lions at Los Islotes was a real. Taking a rest from hiking on the giant chair. Looking...
