We’re used to marinas that are located right in, or next to town. The Pod (a.k.a. Crew). Huatulco – Mexico Tourism Refined. April 2, 2016. The pink magenta color is approaching 40 knots of wind. This kind of wind could blow you 200-300 miles out to sea. I got into a routine of running in the morning while the weather was still reasonably cool. We did an epic tour up to some waterfalls where the kids had a blast on the rope swing. We also enjoyed a few nice meals out in the little town of La Crucecita. Impressed by our story telling? Where the heck is YOLO? Part 2 of 2.

The Pod (a.k.a. Crew). S/V Yolo (S/V means Sailing Vessel) is a 1990 Brewer 44. She is cutter rigged. The bowsprit makes a great perch for dolphin watching or to reenact your favorite scene from Titanic. Yolo was one of the last of her kind to be built by Ft. Myers Yacht and Shipbuilding in the sunny state of Florida. A unique design feature is her centerboard. This is not the exact sail plan and cabin layout as YOLO, as she has a bowsprit and a somewhat customized interior. February 23, 2015 at 2:03 pm.

Unfortunately, a boat is not quite like a car, when it comes to keeping it in place. You can’t just pull up to the anchorage, put your gear selector in PARK and then set the brake (and then grab a Pacifico Ballena). Max sustained winds while at anchor – 28 knots for 6 hours. As we turned the corner through the San Lorenzo Channel, things moderated and by the time we were approaching La Paz, it was dead calm. We found an awesome little anchorage just outside the entrance of the channel leading into La Paz and had a great night sleep. Some sporty conditions out in the sea! The late Steve Jobs iYacht.
