Wild - Routine Ramblings

The title of my most recently completed book. This book hit close to home for me. The author, Cheryl Strayed embarked on a journey on the Pacific Crest Trail- her ever first major hiking experience. Parts of the adventure were laugh-out-loud hilarious, like when she saw a long-horned bull on the trail and shouted: 'MOOOSE! This is my 'slice of life' blog. I am an art teacher. My Art Teacher Blog:. This Little Class of Mine. 62 Days of Cats. Life is a Slice. Wilcox's Slice of Life 2017.

Do you have any favorite podcasts? I'm sort of an audio book addict. I have an audible account and I love to listen to books. Especially on the weekends, when I wake up earlier than my husband and I don't want to make any noise, or turn on the lights. I can pop in my headphones and listen to a classic story. I've just finished Great Expectations by Charles Dickins and Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. I have two favorite podcasts that I would recommend. With Krista Tippett- - This is one of those podca...

#TBT - Routine Ramblings
http://routineramblings.weebly.com/blog/tbt2
Last year, I wrote about how I made friends. With someone who happened to be sitting in my exact same seat one day in high school biology class. It was as if a cosmic connection were working to bring us together. On Tuesday, I was reminded of that post while we were at an Oklahoma Thunder basketball game. As a teacher, I often run into my students everywhere. Monday, I ran into an entire family of students at Crystal Bridges, and today I saw pack of kids at the mall. They needed to move one section over.

Party Planning Committee - Routine Ramblings
http://routineramblings.weebly.com/blog/party-planning-committee
A friend recently realized how often I take the lead in organizing and planning group events for our friends. As a blue personality, I am naturally drawn towards being in charge. After she mentioned that, and thanked me for always being willing to to that, I realized how often I jump at the chance to be the social committee. Planning parties, organizing elaborate themed birthday celebrations, spearheading events and road trips- -all of those things are SO fun for me. This is my 'slice of life' blog.

Slice of Life Challenge Day 31. Today is the last day of the month which means my posts will be much less frequent. Here are some reminders and tips (both for myself and my small audience) for next year:. 2 Have a reoccurring theme once or twice a week. This year I did #tbt where I showcased old photos each Thursday. Next year I could do lists, hobbies, books, movies, or even feature places I've been on a selected day of the week which helps fill up the blog pretty quick with pre-selected topics. I have ...

It's over. - Routine Ramblings
http://routineramblings.weebly.com/blog/its-over
That I have been sort of treating this blog like a 'scrapbook'. My goal has been to go back to things that have happened throughout the year, or over the years and spend some time pondering them, because let's face it.even though this is supposed to be a 'slice' of what my life is like every day for a month, not that many interesting or poignant moments happen every day. I don't have an epiphany every day. I don't always feel like thinking about what happened every day. I simply say, 'It's over.'. WCHS E...

A Change of Pace. Yesterday, I told you a little about the Capitol Exhibit. Actually traveling to Jefferson City was is a whole other story. On Wednesday after school, I picked up the blue Altima with the license plate '58'. It is so weird driving a car that you aren't used to. The windshield wipers, cruise control, and all other gauges and switches are in different spots, it takes a little time to adjust. I began the 3 hour journey with my headphones in. I wanted to finish. When I got in the building, a...

Keeping the Trail Warm - Routine Ramblings
http://routineramblings.weebly.com/blog/keeping-the-trail-warm
Keeping the Trail Warm. Mini hike in the woods. Yesterday had the makings of a perfect day. Amidst the sunshine and smiles, my four friends and I stopped to take selfies. 8203;And food pics. And those were assembled into photo collages. And then we'd tag ourselves. And tag our location on Facebook and Instagram. At each stop along the way, one or more of us would pause to look at photos from earlier, edit or crop them and then we would upload them to one or more social media sites. I am an art teacher.

The View from Sixth Grade: Slice of Life: March 14, 2016, "A Surprise in the Dark"

The View from Sixth Grade. Reflections and Excitement from Room 606. Monday, March 14, 2016. Slice of Life: March 14, 2016, "A Surprise in the Dark". This morning I was on my daily walk with my dad and Yadi, my Golden Retriever. It was a cold morning, but I found that halfway through my walk, I was getting warm with all my cold weather gear on. I decided to take off my gloves to see if that helped. I hooked them around my wrist by the straps so I didn't have to carry them. It was really 4:15, right!
