February | 2010 | Swami Mami
https://swamimami.wordpress.com/2010/02
Non) still life with toddler. Learning to let go…. February 22, 2010. We bought Little Man skates. We had to. Fisher Price skates = $25. Elbow pads, knee pads, wrist guards (little gloves) and helmet… well, it adds up. We let him pick out his own helmet, it’s Lightening McQueen, he loves it. Which means, he knows, he needs helmets and pads before the skates. You are currently browsing the Swami Mami. Blog archives for February, 2010. Other sites I follow. Blog at WordPress.com.
Boundaries | Swami Mami
https://swamimami.wordpress.com/2010/01/29/boundaries
Non) still life with toddler. Little Man is pushing boundaries. Will Mom and Dad let me stand on my chair at the dinner table? How long can I push bedtime? Can I demand my tv show instead of the one Daddy is watching? Bedtime, we have good days and bad days. If Mommy makes him go to bed, he cries for Daddy, and vice versa. And now that he can open doors, he can stand outside his bedroom door and cry. Luckily he doesn’t know how to open the babygate that is outside his door. Feed You can leave a response.
Doors | Swami Mami
https://swamimami.wordpress.com/2010/01/18/doors
Non) still life with toddler. Little Man has learned about doors. A milestone, while necessary, scary for the adults living in the house. Thank goodness my pregnancy nesting self installed child locks and baby gates everywhere in the house. So, doors. Freezer doors can be opened, and he can get a popsicle or look and point at the ice cream. Or get out the teething keys that are still in there. I am fine with that. Until he learns how to open that. Which will happen one day, and too soon for me. Leave a R...

Non) still life with toddler. Lesser wrote about milestones. #1 Mommy Edition. May 25, 2009. So much to say! But I think I will start with this one. I have several for LM, but this one has been brewing, it’s for the mommies. Lesser wrote about milestones – Mommy edition. 1 When Hemorrhoids come up in polite conversation at a cookout. The conversation quieted and changed gears. I settled down. But later in the night, I realized that the use of the word of hemorrhoids, was much worse. Milestone #2 Mommy Ed...
March | 2009 | Swami Mami
https://swamimami.wordpress.com/2009/03
Non) still life with toddler. March 28, 2009. It’s Saturday night. Little Man is being rocked asleep by Dear Husband. (Actually I think DH is now asleep with LM on his lap) Dog is walked. Trash is taken out. Dishes are done. Dishwasher running. Sex In The City movie is in the DVD player. I know it got bad reviews, but I got it from the library, so at least I can enjoy it without feeling like I got ripped off. Bowl of ice cream eaten. Bottle of beer half drunk. Ch ch ch changes…. March 26, 2009. Little Ma...

Bad Momma: Freedom
http://bad-momma.blogspot.com/2011/07/freedom.html
Ramblings and life lessons from a late-in-life mom such as why it is important to use your reading glasses when dispensing medications! Monday, July 4, 2011. Faint strains of Frank Sinatra waft through the air from a neighboring yard as I preside over the family grill. A feeling of nostalgia washes over me. Before long we are seated round the kitchen table for a feast of grilled chicken, rice, baked potatoes and sauteed vegetables (yellow squash, Swiss chard, onions, peas and basil) from the garden.
Bad Momma: I Scream, We all Scream!

Ramblings and life lessons from a late-in-life mom such as why it is important to use your reading glasses when dispensing medications! Sunday, April 10, 2011. I Scream, We all Scream! Today was a balmy, 86 degrees; the first really nice, sunny and unseasonably warm day of Spring. After a trip to the garden store, I spent a good chunk of the day cleaning up some of my flower beds and planted a few flowers to add some color to my planters. The Power of Embarrassment! I asked "Do these embarrass you? I rep...

Ramblings and life lessons from a late-in-life mom such as why it is important to use your reading glasses when dispensing medications! Saturday, September 11, 2010. Farewell to Summer Vacation. Flying the Friendly Skies. Alex took this shot of the clouds outside his window. At 6:45 in the morning. Alex taking a bite of what he swears to be. The best pizza he has ever had! We landed in White Plains which has to be the smallest commercial airport I have ever been in. I opted for the Eggplant Rollatini.
my story | Jinxed

Stories, angst, my perfect children, prayers to Goddess, rats, queers, cats, friends, grandview heights, noodles, jokes, scrapbook pages, freaks, chosen family, politics and love. September 11, 2010. I often wonder, out loud, what story children will tell themselves about their childhood. Will the title of Ay’s autobiography be ” My life as a drug fiends/chronic slut/hippie pagan’s child”. I tried 3 different ways to write that. Or will she write “Saint’s Daughter”. Or “Jesus Saves Pagans”. MY Blog →.

Ramblings and life lessons from a late-in-life mom such as why it is important to use your reading glasses when dispensing medications! Tuesday, May 21, 2013. It has been almost a year since I posted to this blog. Nothing earth-shattering has happened this past year. I became more active on FaceBook and decided to take a break here. The one thing I've missed is being able to document my life in short stories. I also miss keeping up with the bloggers that I had been following. Hopefully I'll be back soon!

Ramblings and life lessons from a late-in-life mom such as why it is important to use your reading glasses when dispensing medications! Wednesday, August 31, 2011. I came across this article today about a woman being sued by her two children. I am now wondering if I am opening myself up to liability by my title of "Bad Momma"? Fortunately the suit was dismissed. I think my kids could come up with much better stuff against me. Posted by Bad Momma. Can she sue them for being ungrateful brats? I can see cle...

Ramblings and life lessons from a late-in-life mom such as why it is important to use your reading glasses when dispensing medications! Friday, May 24, 2013. Last weekend in addition to re-potting tomato seedlings I grew from seed, I also planted several varieties of tomato plants I purchased at my favorite garden store. I waited until after May 15th this year to plant (historically the last frost date), a few weeks later than I normally do as we have had a really late Spring. Posted by Bad Momma. I need...
