I had the opportunity to travel with a women's group as they traveled into the mountains. With a guide I was able to stop at ten homesteads to ask permission to take pictures. Welcome to Swaziland vernacular architecture. This web page is a brief look at the vernacular architecture in Swaziland. It is a "brief" look because I was only in country for six days without transportation. Through meeting people in country, I was able to travel to four sites to document just a little of what actually exists. 3 Hlane Game lodge. 4 House on Fire. My time in Swaziland was based in the area between Mbabane, the capital and the city Manzini. I also was able to travel to Hlane Game Park.
