Increased capacity of an Urban Wastewater Treatment production line. An WWTP had 2 parallel lines designed for treating 11,000 m3 per day each. The incoming waste flow has reached 14,000 m3 per day. Operating the second line would have resulted in additional cost of electricity and maintenance. The urban WWTP used chemicals in the primary settler (Chemically Enhanced Primary Treatment CEPT) to reduce the load on the biological reactor. Large energy savings were achieved at a reasonable chemical dosage.
