Kindling, poems and other work. Tuesday, April 10, 2012. The Cat Wishes to Use the Pen. To write doubtless,. About the space under the rug where he keeps things and. The spot under the coffee table where he also keeps things. Including himself, dreaming of jungle, he would like to. Unless he wants a drink in which case he will write. Of the white porcelain tub where he sits demanding. A drink from the faucet. Or yowling through the house. Until someone follows him to his dish to witness. Guy, so funny!

Kindling, poems and other work. Sunday, February 26, 2012. From Corson’s Inlet A. R. Ammons. 8220; like an inlet’s cutting edge:. There are dunes of motion,. Organizations of grass, white sandy paths of remembrance. In the overall wandering of the mirroring mind: “. Days hot as a train burnished penny,. Small footprints traced in asphalt. Stop and go, hide and seek. Childish shrieking until the streetlights come on. Sitting on the porch while the day recedes. Cats drowsing in the heat of a window ledge.

Then dropped to the floor of the world. Oh, Guy, this is wonderful! I am so glad you wrote a new poem! I love the image and the final two lines! May 10, 2013 at 11:31 AM. And who over ...

Kindling, poems and other work. Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Seeing the school year starting again and frost on the cars. I decided to rerun one of my older poems. Days of Construction Paper and Macaroni. Office bound how often the seasons, years go unremarked. In the younger grades you decorated the classroom. Autumn leaves between sheets of wax paper and it is fall. Black cat cutouts, Halloween, an accordion turkey, it is Thanksgiving. February and there are Valentines for everyone for once. And who ov...

Canadian Wonder #5: LEN - "Steal My Sunshine" (Summer Mix-Tape Edition). Well you surely remember their song, "Steal My Sunshine," which answered the age-old question, "can a white, Canadian rap group who resembles extras from 'Degrassi: The Next Generation' make a hit song by borrowing liberally from an old '80s hit. And looping a beat from one of the most ubiquitous songs of the disco era. That propelled the song and album into the nation's zeitgeist. But Len's time in the strobe light would be- wait f...

Download: It Was A Good Decade, Vol. V (1996). To a lesser extent:. Which never really caught on in the U.S., despite the best efforts of Oasis (who had some success with What's the Story Morning Glory? We also see the effects of a band like Green Day going platinum seven times (in the words of Kid Rock) with the seminal punk band Bad Religion actually getting some airplay thanks to a slick production also by Ric Ocasek (hey, the guy was hot in '96.not physically. The Rentals - "Friends of P". Weezer bassist Matt Sharp turned a small, low-budget side-project into a minor hit with "Friends of P"- a new wave-ish tribute to producer Ric Ocasek's supermodel wife Paulina Porizkova. The Return of the Rentals. He exited the group not long after (under what initially seemed to be friendly terms, but later- following a lawsuit levied by Sharp on Weezer- seemed vaguely not-so-friendly). He turned to The Rentals full time, releasing a sophomore effort, Seven More Minutes.

Download: It Was A Good Decade, Vol. IV (1995). And we continue on with the series. This week: 1995. We're talking at least half a dozen different strands of alternative rock. Truly something for everybody! This is in the top 3 contenders for my favorite mix of the series. There was just a ton of great music to cull from this time out. So much good music in fact, that it would maybe even be possible to make a Volume II of this Volume IV. But that sounds complicated. And I'm bad at math. 1 Self - So Low.

Kindling, poems and other work: December 2011
http://sunisaxeman.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Kindling, poems and other work. Wednesday, December 14, 2011. The beer truck backs up. Beep beep, beep. At the vet's window, a happy black cat. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). That's just the wild wood. For some reason, the sight of snow descending on fire always makes me think of the ancient world – legionaries in sheepskin warming themselves at a brazier: mountain altars where offerings glow between wintry pillars; centaurs with torches cantering beside a frozen sea….
