My Dizzy Thoughts: Where to Stay in Prague: Arpacay Backpackers Hostel
http://dizzymae.blogspot.com/2015/04/where-to-stay-in-prague-arpacay.html
Musings of a wandering wonderer. Friday, April 03, 2015. Where to Stay in Prague: Arpacay Backpackers Hostel. A friend who's been to Prague the previous year recommended Arpacay to us. He said that the place is clean and quite near to Charles Bridge. I'm so glad we followed his recommendation, except for the long uphill climb to get there, I quite enjoyed my stay there. It had a quite cozy nook, too. (Photo from Arpacay website). Breakfast area (Photo from Arpacay website). You can access the kitchen any...

My Dizzy Thoughts: Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp
http://dizzymae.blogspot.com/2015/04/sachsenhausen-concentration-camp.html
Musings of a wandering wonderer. Thursday, April 02, 2015. Our visit to Germany wouldn't have been complete without a visit to a concentration camp.My friend and I booked a guided tour to Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp in Oranienburg, which was about an hour's train ride from Berlin. Although I usually like going off on my own and DIY-ing it, I think it was a good decision to join this tour because I got to learn more about the place and how it figured in history. The prisoners' sleeping quarters.

My Dizzy Thoughts: Practical Tip: Pack Light
http://dizzymae.blogspot.com/2014/11/practical-tip-pack-light.html
Musings of a wandering wonderer. Wednesday, November 05, 2014. Practical Tip: Pack Light. My friends know that I pride myself for being a light packer. I've always hated lugging around heavy and bulky bags filled with unnecessary items. I've made this mistake once, and I promised myself never again! So now I'm sharing with you some of the tricks I've learned to travel lightly:. When in transit, I wear my bulkiest clothes (jacket, jeans) and shoes (rubber shoes, boots). This gives me more luggage space.

My Dizzy Thoughts: August 2013
http://dizzymae.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Musings of a wandering wonderer. Wednesday, August 21, 2013. Practical Tip: Sock It! I have never been much of a socks fan. I only wore them in grade school and high school, when white socks are mandatory with black leather shoes; or had to wear rubber shoes or sneakers, which was rare. I prefer open-toed sandals because they made my feet feel free. (Whoa, lots of e's there! I'd wear flip flops while driving and then just slip on my high heels on my way to the office. 1 Marks and Spencer. Toe coverage (I...

The Palacios Kitchen: 01/01/2009 - 02/01/2009
http://thepalacioskitchen.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 07, 2009. Apologies for the looooong absence. I stopped cooking in the latter part of my pregnancy and left all the cooking to Mike. Mike on the other hand started cooking everyday, but since he never writes anything down and just makes things up as he goes along, it wasn't easy to record his recipes for posting here. I'll start of the year, however, by raving about Mike's second favorite kitchen gadget (next to the 9-Minute Marinator. Yes, we have become TV shopping fans! At least twi...

The Palacios Kitchen: Teriyaki Chicken Rice
http://thepalacioskitchen.blogspot.com/2008/08/teriyaki-chicken-rice.html
Tuesday, August 19, 2008. Mike made a really yummy chicken dish yesterday. He never takes measurements, so I'll just describe what he did. 4 chicken breasts, deboned and deskinned. 1 egg, beaten. Marinde the chicken breasts in the teriyaki sauce and honey. In a wok, sautee the onions until translucent. Add the chicken and fry until cooked through. Add the rice and egg, mix well, and continue to fry. Find other people blogging about: teriyaki chicken. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Cooking tips, 1.

Sunday, November 25, 2007. Grilled Tuna with Honey Pepper Sauce. We had some tuna steak in the refrigerator that I wanted to cook already, and a recipe for honey grilled salmon by Sarina Fores in the Assumption Cookbook. I tweaked the recipe a little bit (we didn't have pineapple juice so I brought out a small can of tuna chunks instead), and this is what I came up with. 1 slab tuna fillet (good for two). 1/3 cup soy sauce. 1/4 cup dark brown sugar. A small can pineapple chunks. Juice of 1 lemon. Sorry f...
