October 29 is the equivalent of July 4th for Turkey, complete with lots of pro Turkish pomp and circumstance. All schools hold special ceremonies to commemorate this day. Needless to say we were quite sorry to leave - its too bad they live so far away! Tuesday, June 9, 2009. We got to celebrate Liji's birthday twice; once at the yuva with his friends, and once in jonesboro with Bex, John, Linden and Evie. Elijah requested a mountain cake, with an apricot leather road. I think Bex and I did quite well.
