About the farm | Sweet Crow Farm
https://sweetcrow.wordpress.com/about
Sweet Crow Farm is on indefinite hiatus – but a big thanks goes out to all who helped make it work. I had a great first season, bringing fresh organic vegetables to the New Glasgow farmer’s market. I am still farm, just in a different location with different folks in Portugal Cove, NL. You can check it out at this link: Seed to Spoon. To see what we’re up to. Sunday, June 28, 2009. Friday Jim and I did food pick up and got no tomatoes again. We were stunned. Lots of other decent looking stuff though. Sadly we didn't get vegetables we could make sushi with, but maybe next week I will get to do that. However, we did get a lot of cauliflower, and excited by that I decided to soak a bunch of the dried chickpeas we got last week so that I could make a chickpea-cauliflower curry. There were no potatoes, but what can you do? We chopped up onions (saving the frozen o...

Saturday, May 30, 2009. There are definitely weeks where going into a large, warm, windowless room for 4-5 hours on a beautiful Saturday afternoon is not exactly what I want to do. But I go anyway. This week Jim did food pickup by himself and, when not injuring himself, got a bunch of food! So we cooked up some of the veggie chicken breasts, and it was super weird, boil in a bag stuff. We weren't sure what to do with it at first, but someone had the bright idea of making (lots of) sandwiches. Yum. This w...

Food Not Blogs: Wishes it had been "food not wine" on Friday night
http://vanfnb.blogspot.com/2009/09/wishes-it-had-been-food-not-wine-or.html
Sunday, September 13, 2009. Wishes it had been "food not wine" on Friday night. So, Montreal. Montreal has to have an active FNB right? Well, I dunno. I found two different days/times in two different places for when FNB servings happened in Montreal. The first one was on Saturday. But I was too hungover to get to it. Yes, indeed. Stupid alcohol. If it was Vancouver I would have gotten out to it, but since I didn't know where it was I just did nothing all day. Bah. They're able to do that because every s...

Saturday, September 5, 2009. Kitchen(er) Helpers Part Deux. After last week's failure of cooking with FNB I was totally pumped to do it this week.
