Brief history of the Ray Estate and Sweethope. In 1905 Sir Charles Parsons, the inventor of the steam turbine, purchased the estate and his family continued to own the estate after his death in 1934. His daughter, Rachel Parsons, gave the estate up to the Labour Government Land Commission in 1947. Ray Hall was suffering badly from dry rot and everything except the agricultural elements were taken in hand by the Forestry Commission. Middot; holiday cottage. Middot; caravan site. The Original Ladies' Fishing Club. Sweethope Lough Ladies Day. 7th August, 2013 - Posted by Lucy - No Comments. On Sunday some of our ladies visited Sweethope Lough. In beautiful Northumberland. Although fishing was hard, largely due to weather conditions, Deborah Ford from Alston managed to catch ‘Fish of the Week’ – a beautiful 5lb 6oz Rainbow Trout. The fish was caught using a black pennell on the larger lake whilst Deborah was fishing by boat. August 7, 2013. Clothing and Looking The Part.

The Beck Family…. there were two, three, four in a bed…. Tony and Linda Beck have taken over the lease of Deneholme in January 2009 – the 15 year lease will see them running this place until at least 2024. (Which sounds a bit scary…). The business grew and several moves to increasingly bigger premises saw them running their mobile adventure company from a farmhouse north of Morpeth up until 2008. There are always plans for the future and currently Tony and Linda are dreaming … to turn their passion...
