Membership in and support of the Sweet House Foundation will help to preserve and maintain this historic landmark home of Martin Sweet for the enlightenment, enjoyment and benefit of present and future generations. The $10,000 payment may be made in four installments of $2,500 or in two installments of $5,000 or in one payment of $10,000. THE SWEET HOUSE FOUNDATION. Where the Martin Sweet Legacy Comes Alive. Martin Sweet was a leading figure in Grand Rapids in the last half of the 1800's. He was a visionary and an entrepreneur with unlimited energies and talents. In 1846 he started a flour mill and was the leading grain merchant in the area for years. He imported the first Holstein Frisian cattle from the Netherlands to his farm (which now is Kent Country Club) on the street that was named in his honor, Sweet Street.

As Martin Sweet's business ventures prospered and he became prominent in the community, he dreamed of a distinguished and spacious home for his family, and in the early 1860's he built his home on East Fulton. Desdemona’s Dining Menu. Membership in the Women’s City Club has many benefits. Members may freely use the Clubhouse dining rooms, lounge areas and the library. Members may attend educational and cultural programs, style shows, concerts, bus trips, health and lifestyle programs, book reviews, travelogue/arm chair cruises and classes. Monday, January 7, 2013. Hayley - 8 Months. What an adventurous little girl we have on our hands! This month Hayley started to crawl.it isnt much of a crawl, but instead we call it her wounded soldier crawl. The first food she decided she didnt like was asparagus.but then tried it again a few days later and she gobbled it right up. She had croup for the first time :(. She weighs 21 1/2 pounds (found out while at the doctor). I love making her laugh.she has the best laugh :). Sunday, December 9, 2012.
