Chris and Ashley Abroad: September 2013
http://simpsonsabroad.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 22, 2013. Malapascua. With twin toddlers. As you may or may not be aware, the Philippines is a large country that offers various climate zones and myriad activities for tourists. We chose the always popular beach option and headed to a tiny island called Malapascua. The next paragraph just might change your mind. So, yes, the island was secluded and gorgeous. The problem with a secluded island? It left at 8:30 PM putting us in Cebu at about 1:00 AM. With twin toddlers. We decide...Hope ...

Chris and Ashley Abroad: North Korea: Fact or Fiction
http://simpsonsabroad.blogspot.com/2014/05/north-korea-fact-or-fiction.html
Saturday, May 3, 2014. North Korea: Fact or Fiction. 1 There are no cars on the roads. 2 There is no electricity outside of Pyongyang. 3 The landscape is barren. 4 Propaganda is everywhere. 5 North Koreans live in total isolation from the rest of the world. 6 The Kims are everywhere. Fact By the Kims, I mean The Great Leader, the Generalissimo, and The Great Chairman themselves, Kim Il-Sung, Kim Jong-Il, and Kim Jong-Un. The Great Interior Designer (whoever that was) must have been inspired by 1984.

Monday, September 22, 2014. The girls are in school now (*sigh*) and are learning at a rate reminiscent of Keanu Reeves’ ability to pick up kung fu in The Matrix. Every day, they come home with new songs, new stories, new skills. It is amazing to watch them and it gives me a profound appreciation for the teachers who not only can mentally and emotionally bear a baker’s dozen of three and four year olds day in and day out, but actually teach. Them something every day. It’s astounding. 8220;I have a rhyme!

Chris and Ashley Abroad: April 2013
http://simpsonsabroad.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 29, 2013. The hills are alive with the sound of music! Friday, April 5, 2013. If you get CNN, the BBC, Fox News, heck even if you get facebook, you are probably aware that things here on the Korean peninsula are not exactly… friendly. Just so we are all aware, the relationship between the Koreas hasn’t been amicable for some time but right now tensions seem to be mounting. And so what does that mean for South Korea? MESSAGE APRIL04, 2013. A Security Message for U.S. Citizens. Haha – B...

Krazy Kennedys: Let's begin again...
http://valindajk.blogspot.com/2011/01/lets-begin-again.html
Sunday, January 9, 2011. I think I want to start blogging again. There is just something very cathartic about writing down one's thoughts and memories. Also, I have been inspired by my friend, Tricia, to make sure I remember! I'll write more later, after church, but I knew if I didn't post this commitment, I'd talk myself out of it! Posted by The Kennedy Krew. Do it Do it, do it, do it. Write your heart out. And kiss your husband. January 9, 2011 at 12:56 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Krazy Kennedys: May 2009
http://valindajk.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 8, 2009. My sugar bear is home, safe and healthy. I want so bad to be overjoyed - but I'm actually feeling very humbled and sobered. As I walked around that hospital, I saw so many children who are not leaving healthy, so many who obviously have cancer or severe injuries, so many little bitty babies. I feel bad about saying, "Yeah - God answered our prayers! Didn't all those families pray the same prayers? Would I still sing the Lord's praises if the outcome were different? Thank you my Lord,...

Krazy Kennedys: March 2009
http://valindajk.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 24, 2009. However - she is NOT her mother - and therefore she still has to find it! Posted by The Kennedy Krew. Monday, March 23, 2009. Well, it's back to the normal world, until Summer. This week was so wonderful. It was so nice to be home with my family, laugh with my babies, hold hands with my husband, and go when we wanted to go and stay when we wanted to stay. Ah. Posted by The Kennedy Krew. Friday, March 20, 2009. After we got the tents and kitchen set up. And, aside from Kensey runn...

Krazy Kennedys: Scrapbooking
http://valindajk.blogspot.com/2011/01/scrapbooking.html
Monday, January 10, 2011. I'm very behind, so these first 2 pages were from way back in June. Our friends, John and Jill Holland, took us to Maui with them on vacation! It was such a wonderful get-away for the 2 of us, but my children had a wonderful time as well! They spent the week with my parents in Abilene. Mamaw and Papaw always have so many fun things planned for them! After that, I was working on a page about our Book Club. LOL! We ended up only being able to have ONE meeting! Dallas/Fort Worth, TX.

Sunday, March 8, 2015. When our girls were really little and I was just starting to make food for them. Child: “Mommy, are these fish? Me: “Yes, they are.”. Child: “And is that the head? Me: “Yep, that’s the head.”. Child: “And those are they eyes? Me: “Yes, sweetheart, those are the eyes.”. Child: “And are there bones inside that you can eat? Me: “Yes, you can eat the bones inside.”. Child: “Okay.” *gulp*. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). In the Lion's Steps. Song of a Friend. Hope and a future.
