Friday, January 23, 2015. 3 Day Getaway: Paris - La Première Partie. Paris was our first stop on our two week jaunt around Europe. Our flight arrived in Roissy - Charles De Gaulle around 2pm and we quickly found our way to the Tourist Information Desk, at Terminal 1 to purchase a 4 Day Paris Museum Pass. Per person) was a great fit. Before the trip I listed out the attractions covered in the pass that we thought we'd visit during our time in the city to make sure that the savings were worth it. And moder...

Monday, November 10, 2014. 3 Day Getaway: NYC and Brooklyn. For 4th of July we drove 10 hours to New York City, so that we could spend the long weekend with our BFFs. We spent most of our Friday, July 4, walking around Ellis Island and visiting Lady Liberty for the first time. We had a delicious lunch at Liberty House Restaurant. On Saturday morning we walked around Lower Manhattan before jumping on a ferry to Brooklyn. We walked a couple of blocks until we happened among Smorgasburg. The day was closed ...

Friday, October 17, 2014. After the Wedding: How the Boas Are Growing Together. The Boas got married on May 26, 2012, 2.5 wonderful years ago in early morning. By a brunch reception. We were 22 and had just barely finished our college degrees. Though I had read over and over on the internet how I should wait until we were at least 25 if I wanted to have a chance at a successful married, I thought our age was no biggie! I spent every night home alone reading. The day we bought our first car! Turns out bei...

Monday, November 11, 2013. Trying My Hand at Once a Month Cooking. I recently stumbled on Once a Month Meals. And went down a rabbit hole of freezer cooking recipes on Pinterest. The concept cooking a big batch of food once a month instead of cooking every night sounded glorious. I devoured every blog post I could find on the subject (like this one. Until I decided that I wanted to dive in. Balsamic BBQ Pork Tenderloin. Recipe of my own invention). 10 oz BBQ Sauce (I used Jack Daniel's Original Recipe).

Tuesday, February 10, 2015. Two Year House Anniversary. This past weekend we celebrated the two year house anniversary! This year was a slow one for home improvement projects because we prioritized traveling in 2014 but we are hoping to jump back into our projects. Our new bright purple door! Of the dozens of houses that we saw, we fell in love with this house because it was a blank slate. From the minute you walked in everything a blank canvas I could work on. Semi built in bookcase. Of the dozens of houses that we saw, we fell in love with this house because it was a blank slate. From the minute you walked in everything a blank canvas I could work on. Shortly after moving we painted all of the rooms in the house, all four colors we used can be seen as soon as you walk in the door. Here's the former living room/now office as it looked on move-in day. Semi built in bookcase. The dining room was just another room painted beige when we moved in. And bought some metal dining chairs.

Modern Day Jibarita: 3 Day Getaway: Paris - La Deuxième Partie

Wednesday, January 28, 2015. 3 Day Getaway: Paris - La Deuxième Partie. We were warned about the massive crowds an Versailles, so we woke up our first morning in Paris extremely early in order to catch an early train and make it to the Palace before it opened at nine am. Imagine our surprise when we found the place totally empty! We would have probably been 8th in line to enter the Palace at nine am but because we had bought the Paris Museum Pass we skipped it entirely and made our way to the courtyard.
