Friday, February 10, 2012. It is a layered chocolate and raspberry hot milk cake with vanilla bean and raspberry Italian buttercream. The pink was tinted with raspberry sauce, made from just cooking down and straining raspberries. I don't like using food color in frosting, this tastes and looks so much better. Tuesday, January 29, 2013. M-I-C-K-E-Y m-o-u-s-e, Mickey Mouse! I made this guy for a little boys first birthday. I just used a 12" pan for the face and two 5" cakes for the ears. If I did it again I think I would have used a 10" pan for the face, but I needed to make it big enough to feed a small army of kids and still fit on my boards. Labels: first birthday cake. Monday, October 29, 2012. I had a last minute cake order for a 21st birthday cake. Guys are hard to make cakes for. They can't be too frilly, pretty or childish, all the things I specialize in. I actually really liked this cake. It was simple and manly pretty, at least I like to think so. It is a strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting with a bit of chocolate frosting just for the effect. The bunting is made of miniature beer labels. Labels: 21st birthday cake. The only thing I think these were missing was a drizzle of chocolate. 1 stick softened butter. 1/2 cup peanut butter. Mix together and press into a greased cake pan. 1/4 cup peanut butter. 1/2 cup brown sugar. 1/2 cup white sugar. Mix together and pour over crust. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes! Mix ingredients and pour into custard dishes. Put into baking pan and fill with water just below custard dishes. Bake at 350 for 55 minutes. Top with cinnamon . Enjoy warm or chilled! The best pick-me-up cupcake ever! 2 1/2 cups flour. 1/2 cup veg oil. 1 cup strong brewed coffee ( chilled). 1 1/2 tsp baking soda. 1 tsp baking powder. 3/4 cup dark cocoa powder. Mix dry ingredients first then mix remaining ingredients until a smooth batter has formed. Fill mini cupcake pan 3/4 full and bake at 350 for 12 min. 3 cups powdered sugar. I wish I had a good excuse for my long absence, but the truth is I just don't. Lets leave it at that and get back to cookin'! I made homemade ravioli last night and to go with it I made a delicious pesto using cilantro and peanuts. Way cheaper than basil and pine nuts and just as good if not better! 1 whole bunch of cilantro. About 3 TBS of Parmesan cheese.
