Ali's SPSCC Indian Tribe. Art of the Age. May 28, 2014. May 31, 2014. Have you ever wondered Who were the fish people of Washington? They were fast swimmers. And celebrated the return of salmon. In February. Many were Salish. Dressing in woven cedar bark. And spruce root garments, marrying between tribes and making their babies beautiful by flattening their heads. These people, the Quinault. Chehalis, and Cowlitz were the only people of Salish. Not only believed in spirits such as the helpful and foolish.

Quileute Art →. April 18, 2014. The Quileutes first came in contact with Europeans in the beginning of the 18. Century, but it wasn’t until the mid-19. Century that official contact was made when the Quileute tribe signed a treaty with the staff of then Washington Territory governor, Isaac Stevens. This treaty is known as the Treaty of Olympia, and states that the Quileute people were to give up the land they owned and relocate to a very small reservation near Forks, Washington.
