Swimming the a to z of Devon and Cornwall (with guest spots further afield). Skip to primary content. M is for Magical Mystery Tour to Meadfoot. May 30, 2014. K and decided to have an adventure. The plan was to take the ambulance and go for a walk and swim at Dartmeet. The ambulance didn’t want to play. So we took the “aspiring to be a carmpervan but still cunning disguised as a car” instead. I pootling along happily on Dartmoor when K shouted “STOP! Some time later (and I want to make it very clear that...

Goodness me it’s a long time since I blogged, or indeed bobbed. This winter has been spectacularly rubbish for swimming, all those storms. Just a few swims so far then…. Took some visitors for a splash at Budleigh at Easter. Exmouth and Sidmouth – the first few of a lovely long summer on the beach. Don’t mind if I do. 2pm Saturday,...

Swimming the a to z of Devon and Cornwall (with guest spots further afield). Skip to primary content. B B B Bantham. June 20, 2014. The moon was full, the water was clear, the swimming was swooshy, bubbly and skinny. The company was good, the food tasty and the sky clear. The morning was early and sunny and startlingly blue. Think I might have to go back…. This entry was posted in Sea Swims. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Fill in your details below or click an icon to log in:.

Swimming the a to z of Devon and Cornwall (with guest spots further afield). Skip to primary content. D is for Dartmeet. September 1, 2014. Dartmeet is stunningly pretty. The river is cool and clear. The woods are ancient and fresh after recent showers. We swam, we natural jacuzzied, we did yoga, we ate, we triple dipped and we flew. Great place. Lovely people. Perfect day. Yoga, obviously. It’s a tree! See, we do swim too. That appears to work…. This entry was posted in River Dart.

Swimming the a to z of Devon and Cornwall (with guest spots further afield). Skip to primary content. A summer of swimming. September 1, 2014. I haven’t updated the blog for a while. This is not because I haven’t swum. It’s because I’ve been too busy swimming to post! So here are some photos from the best bits locally and then I’ll try to catch up with the new swims…. Budleigh Salterton from the sea. Orcombe Point, Exmouth. Picnic on the beach. TEDs style. This entry was posted in Budleigh Salterton.

The Recovery Position | wildwomanswimming
https://wildwomanswimming.wordpress.com/2015/04/15/the-recovery-position
One woman's wild swimming adventures in the west country. The fabulous Nancy Farmer’s take on winter swimming. Spot on! This is the recovery position for winter swimmers, not for drunk people. Though addled brains, an inability to speak in long sentences and a tendency to throw your drink all over the place are common to both conditions. You probably haven’t known shivering until you have known winter swimming, And still I persist in finding it strangely amusing. The Winter Swimmer’s Recovery Position.

One woman's wild swimming adventures in the west country. Are Wild Swimmers Jeopardising Dartmoor’s Natural beauty? Interesting piece. One woman's wild swimming adventures in the west country. Honey and I are in North Devon today on a work-related visit, and take the opportunity to return to one of our favourite beaches. Welcome Mouth is a part of that wonderful area of cliff on the North Devon/Cornwall borders where the earth’s crust has been pushed and snapped into points that rise up to 400 feet above the Atlantic. In dramatic terms, Welcombe plays. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). Click to email (Opens in new window).

Swimming the a to z of Devon and Cornwall (with guest spots further afield). Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. August 1, 2015. Some mornings you just wake up and know that you need to swim. It’s sunny and calm and the only thing to do is get your cossie and Robie on and head for the beach. It was perfect, clear and calm and I had the beach to myself. I left just as the holidaymakers started to arrive. Great start to the day. Blue Moon at Exmouth. August 1, 2015. Back in the sea again.
