Saturday, August 11, 2007. From my window I can see the Big Dipper. I posted 2 entries today! As fellow trainee Tristan said, it makes 3am visits to the outhouse bearable. You were my demise! We had training a couple of weeks ago about Culture Shock so whatever I’m feeling is normal and valid. It’s...Within one ho...

Friday, September 28, 2007. Just because I'm an American. This statement can really be interpreted two ways – angry and nonchalant. During my first week in the South I experienced both. That’s so American, right? A small shout out to the New Yorkers. My travel mug is from the Strand. 18 miles of books! Being the t...

27 months in Kyrgyzstan: Its cold over here!
http://marthapcadventure.blogspot.com/2010/02/its-cold-over-here.html
27 months in Kyrgyzstan. Friday, February 19, 2010. Its cold over here! Despite the seemingly warm weather during the end of January and beginning of February, Jack Frost has returned to Kyrgyzstan and for the last two weeks we have had regular snow storms and lots of cold weather. The freshly fallen snow was beautiful but with every snowflake that fell all I was reminded of the frozen hell that was to follow. Even with these luxuries I will still complain! 27 months in Kyrgyzstan: Back online!
http://marthapcadventure.blogspot.com/2010/01/back-online.html
27 months in Kyrgyzstan. Thursday, January 28, 2010. Over the last nine months I have been horribly negligent of my blog. I wish I could attribute it to some exciting change of events or even a busy schedule but in reality the only excuse I have is laziness and lack of imagination. Last November I finally witnessed the Central Asian game of Ulok, an ancient game where two groups of men ride horseback and attempt to throw a decapitated goat carcass into one of two barrels. It was FACINATING! Muslim 75%, R...

http://marthapcadventure.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
27 months in Kyrgyzstan. Monday, January 26, 2009. First of all my apologies for, once again, falling behind on my blogging. The holidays through January has proven to be a very hectic time! Apparently the holiday spirit can follow you anywhere around the world and then some seeing as it has been a month since my last entry. He said that beating the eggs and whipping the cream by hand was quite the experience! I thought only machines could stitch things that pretty! At the apartment I am feeling more and...

http://marthapcadventure.blogspot.com/2010/03/womens-day.html
27 months in Kyrgyzstan. Tuesday, March 16, 2010. The second request was made because I knew that vodka and cognac would be flowing and having somebody there with you is never a bad idea. In the third game we were all instructed to write down a line from 5 different songs, then a scenario was read out and we were to answer with our lyrics. For example one of the scenarios was “How would you describe your wedding night? Martha, were you affected by the protests in Bishkek? May 13, 2010 at 4:29 PM. From Ju...
