July was so intensely busy for me that I forgot to tell you all about my new favorite way to use shrubs: as an ingredient in brine for BBQ! The following works for both pork and chicken, and would likely work for beef as well but I haven’t tried it yet (although now I’m totally envisioning Blackberry Balsamic. To 3 cups water (or a combination of liquids) add:. 1/2 cup shrub such as our Peach Brown Sugar.
