Candle Lighters Childhood Cancer Organization. Wednesday, July 22, 2009. Sydney's LAST Chemo Session July 7, 2009. Sydney received her last dose of chemotherapy a few of weeks ago. Other than a few minor complications, like her port not drawing blood, everything went as expected. Since Sydney's previous chemotherapy treatments were unsuccessful we have been given her new treatment regimen. We are facing a much more aggressive treatment regimen this time around. 6 days of radiation with daily anesthesia. 25 weeks of aggressive Chemotherapy. Sydney just had her quarterly CT scan and MRI completed on last Wednesday and I am so happy to report that she is still CANCER FREE! I do have to admit that knowing she had an upcoming CT scan and MRI brings back too many bad memories plus a bit of anxiety that builds til the day of the appointment. We still have to go in for quarterly testing, but we are so happy to share this news. These days Sydney is still making up for lost time. She is becoming more and more comfortable with people and she is delighted to get out and explore new things. She is full of energy and still a praying little girl. She often reminds us to pray.
