Kanu Touren im Yukon Territory. Der Liard River entspringt in den Pelly Mountains im Yukon und mündet nach ca. 1100km bei Fort Simpson in den McKenzie River. Viel Treibholz, Felsbrocken und Untiefen erfordern sehr viel Aufmerksamkeit. Ab dem Swede Creek sind auch die Angelmöglichkeiten gut und werden mit jedem einmündenden Nebenfluss immer besser. Dezadeash River

Kanu Touren im Yukon Territory. Diese Kanutour lässt sich in 2 Abschnitte teilen: Teil 1 vom Dezadeash Lake bis zum Indianerdorf Champagne und als Teil 2 von Champagne bis Haines Junction. Erwin und ich mussten uns mit Teil 2 begnügen, da uns der herrschende Sturm am Dezadeash Lake einen Start von dort verhinderte. Erst am 3. Tag nimmt der Fluss so richtig Geschwindigkeit auf und es sind auch einige schwierigere Stellen zu durchfahren bevor man Haines Junction erreicht.

Wie komme ich nach Whitehorse? Mit Condor ab Frankfurt (ab 2011 nur noch Mittwochs). Bei Mac s Fireweed Books in der Main Street bekomme ich einen Flussführer oder Postkarten. Fishing license gibt s an jeder Tankstelle oder in der Mainstreet. Ein schneller Blick auf s Wetter von Dawson über Burwash, Whitehorse, Faro bis Teslin. Wer mit dem Kanu unterwegs ist, muß sich über Zubring -/ Abhol-Möglichkeiten und sonstige Services Gedanken machen.

Kanu Touren im Yukon Territory. Den Teslin River befuhr ich mehrmals, da ich jedes mal mit einem völlig uhnerfahrenen Partner eine Tour unternahm. So lernte ich den Teslin in den Jahren 1995 (mit Ernst und Erich), 1997 mit Erwin, 1999 mit Erwin und Sigi sowie in 2001 mit Evelin kennen und schätzen. Der Fluss ist nicht besonders schwierig, wobei je nach Wasserstand das Anlanden durch starke Strömungen schon Probleme bereiten kann. Ausgangspunkt ist unterhalb der Teslin Bridge bei Johnson s Crossing.
