Just one guys' thoughts on trying to balance it all. Sunday, August 12, 2012. This last week was a quiet one, due primarily to the fact that Amanda and the kids were out of town visiting her grandparents in Wisconsin and parents in Minneapolis. So it began on Sunday with them leaving before 7:00 am, due to the fact that Lilly and Ben were up around 5:30 - excited to go see Grandma. From there I spent a good amount of time at Office Max, got my hair cut, and then some groceries. Saturday was a busy day!

Just one guys' thoughts on trying to balance it all. Wednesday, January 20, 2010. Isn't It Time For Year Round School. It's amazing that in the year 2010 most schools in the US are still operating in a 1910 (or maybe better yet, 1950) paradigm in regards to how they approach scheduling. Whether it is the scheduling of classes (check out my earlier blog, Let's Do What Is Best For Kids) or the scheduling of the school year. I mean, haven’t we moved beyond the agrarian calendar? In addition wouldn't year-ro...

Just one guys' thoughts on trying to balance it all. Wednesday, September 8, 2010. New Scene, New Challenges, Renewed Passion. Nearly a month ago I started my newest chapter as an educator, High School Social Science Teacher at Indianola High School. And one that was intimidating. But, as I've quickly surmised Kids are Kids and the students at Indianola have done nothing but reaffirm my belief that young people thirst to learn. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). 7-12 Principal @ CRB. bjorth's big beliefs: Ramping Up
http://bjorth.blogspot.com/2012/08/ramping-up.html
Just one guys' thoughts on trying to balance it all. Sunday, August 5, 2012. It was another busy week, but more productive than any of the previous two. Looking forward to this week, it's gonna be a long one - especially without Amanda and the kids! Looking back, Monday was spent with a good friend who is in her final year of an administrative program at Viterbo. She helped me on many different levels, but most importantly we "mapped" the entire building! Later that afternoon I was able to play some golf...

Just one guys' thoughts on trying to balance it all. Sunday, July 29, 2012. In any event, last week was busy. Monday thru Wednesday were meetings, Thursday included a few meetings at school, and Friday was a pure work day. Monday and Tuesday I was able to pick up a lot from Randy Allison in regards to the Supervision of Special Education. Wednesday I took part in the School Administrators of Iowa. Open Lines of Communication. So, this got a little longer that I had anticipated. But it was good . ...Happy...
