Hobby Synth: November 2008
http://hobbysynth.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 25, 2008. I'm afraid I just don't have time these days to do a lot of the hobby synthing I once did. I have a half-built theremin, a quarter-built TR-909 clone, and a totally un-built Vocoder kit sitting on the shelf. I chip away at them from time to time, but nothing will really come of them for a while. I hope we can still be friends. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). 9090 - DIY Drum Synthesizer. Hobby Synth: Pimp My Moog, pt. 3
http://hobbysynth.blogspot.com/2007/06/pimp-my-moog-pt-3.html
Wednesday, June 27, 2007. Pimp My Moog, pt. 3. With the taste of success still on my lips (or was it lacquer thinner? So I set my sights on one of the other minor issues I wanted to fix: the power cord. Obviously Backbone is a band that rocked pretty hard on stage, and nowhere was it more evident than the Minimoog's tattered power cord. But I just couldn't bear it. It felt like the cord was neutered at one end and just broken at the other end. So this was my next project. Probably the biggest challenge (...

Hobby Synth: September 2007
http://hobbysynth.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 30, 2007. Pimp My Moog, pt. 7. As far as I can tell, this is my final venture into minimoog pimpery. My mini looks so damn hot right now, you have no idea. I was inspired when I saw. On Matrixsynth, one of the synth blogs I visit. The wood just looked so striking. I knew my synth wouldn't be totally pimped if I didn't have something similar done. I finally got it though, and to my dismay the rough handling of the box during shipment had caused the case to come apart! All I had left to d...

Hobby Synth: My Minimoog Gets Published
http://hobbysynth.blogspot.com/2009/02/my-minimoog-gets-published.html
Saturday, February 7, 2009. My Minimoog Gets Published. I recently learned that my Minimoog appeared in Keyboard. Magazine, in a section that describes the custom synth cases built by Stephen Jones at. The article has apparently been drawing wide interest in Mr. Jones' work, and I'd say it's well-deserved; his custom synth cases are things of beauty, and they make vintage equipment look better than new. Removing Spray Paint From the Rear Panel. Replacing a Broken Power Cord. Backlit Mod and Pitch Wheels.

Hobby Synth: August 2007
http://hobbysynth.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 1, 2007. Pimp My Moog, pt. 6. This is really a continuation of the last post because I did the work described here at the same time as I replaced the keyboard's bushings. A friend told me that some of my posts were too long to keep his attention so I'm trying not to write novels each time. When I removed the keyboard from the synth it became obvious why certain notes were acting strange: the whole thing was filthy! Http:/ www.moogmusic.com/forum/viewtopic.php? Hobby Synth: Pimp My Moog, pt. 2
http://hobbysynth.blogspot.com/2007/06/pimp-my-moog-pt-2.html
Tuesday, June 26, 2007. Pimp My Moog, pt. 2. As I mentioned before, my Minimoog has a few aesthetic issues that I plan to work on. Generally it looks good. The keyboard is in relatively good condition, the controls work well save for a couple of pots that make noise. You can tell it wasn't made yesterday, but you can also tell that it's been handled well over the years. If it was in bad shape I wouldn't have bought it. The most glaring of the cosmetic issues on the synth could only be seen from the back:.

Hobby Synth: May 2008
http://hobbysynth.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 18, 2008. We Want Answers, Dammit! Wow I guess I chose a bad time to not post for seven months. I've had a few people ask me what the hell the metal box is for in the last post. Sorry it's taken so long to follow that one up! It's the future case for a theremin. I've always loved theremins, so I've decided to build one. Seven months ago. Here's a picture of the assembled circuit board:. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). 9090 - DIY Drum Synthesizer. Archive Sound - Keyboard Rebuild Kits.
