Sunday, February 5, 2012. Family outing to Nadhi-hills. Since for many days, all at home were instating about going to an outing to Nandi hills. Finally the day has come, on January 26th we had been to Nandi hills. Nandi hill is located for about 60 kms from Bangalore. A place located at the height of around 4500 ft above the sea level. Driving till to top in a zigzag road is really a thrilling experience. Before I was ecstatic that if I will drive without any stop or without any fear while driving.

Thursday, June 7, 2007. Veera-Shaiva community ritual -Guggalaa. As part the marriage ritual, devotees pierce a long needle through lips, tongue and cheek. Veer-shaiva community people have been following this practice of performing a ritual during marriage to show gratitude to the god. The marrying couples have to participate along with family members and parents in the ceremony. The god servants those lead the ritual, praise god and laud about his incarnation. Monday, February 23, 2009. This time when I had been to native, I could able to meet and gather some information about Helavaru. Helavaru means narrator, they narrate history of a family. Helavaru is a community name. They basically live in North Karnataka region. Their profession is to maintain a record of family histories and narrate about family origin and its branches. In the winter season they wander village to village and visit each house of village to narrate about that family history.

Saturday, November 7, 2009. A trip to Melukote and adi chunchanagiri. Melukote is a historic place. The great guru Ramanujacharya stayed in this place for 14 yrs and has built famous temple called Sri Cheluv Narayanaswamy. Beautiful sculptures of columns and temple structure are really attractive.
