Wednesday, May 12, 2010. How come I have to leave St. Cloud when it starts to get nice? Jon and I were at a picnic at Riverside Park a couple of weeks ago. It's so pretty there. We were out at Jon's Mom's farm last week. One of the many outside cats had kittens. Out at the farm this guy is my favorite inside cat, even though I'm allergic and he makes me itchy. Such a cute face. I came across an ad that boasted to have a velociraptor proof house. It caught my attention because I do get Jurassic Park d...

Monday, December 06, 2010. Looks like winter is definitely here, it was a really nice autumn. The bike riding was good, not too hot and the trees full of color. Jon grew lots of pickles and 15 pumpkins out at his Mom's farm so that meant lots of pumpkin carving and baking pumpkin seeds. We were on a streak for baking apple pies for awhile, too, our favorite was using the Honeycrisp apple. I have a new niece, Cadel Cameron, she's named after Cadel Evans. I saw Gumby on the street, I love Gumby.

Tuesday, June 26, 2012. I was a little star struck I suppose. I had my phytolith poster up for poster sessions and got some good feedback. I didn't get a chance to see a lot of the flood destruction personally but my family had some pictures from the neighborhood. There were no shortage of photos online and of course drama about the polar bear at the Duluth Zoo and seal swimming on Grand Ave. I feel bad for all the animals that perished at the zoo, too. Hwy 23 by Mont du Lac ski area. I was wondering how...

June: Happy Ground Hog's Day
http://idahofirefly.blogspot.com/2012/02/happy-ground-hogs-day.html
Thursday, February 02, 2012. Happy Ground Hog's Day. Getting ready for a swim after a long day of field work. Filtering water samples at the hotel room. A few times we had to rely on friendly people allowing us to access lakes through their private property. This gentleman bent over backwards allowing us to use his Gator to get into the lake, we wouldn't have been able to get in otherwise. Best cheap breakfast find on the road, we ate 3 times at a cafe when we stayed in Willmar. Where did this year go?

Thursday, March 14, 2013. It's that time of the year where patience runs thin when we get a new layer of snow. I'm just glad I got in a nice little ride yesterday. I subscribed to Cycling.tv to keep me sane, too. I miss living in the same state as her, sad. So I guess I need to find a place to do lap swim. Bunkhouse where we stayed at the state park, on stilts. Oil rig, you could see a number of oil rigs on the horizon, too. Jon getting a picture of a dolphin. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Never say never. I still did two more weeks of field work after I said I wrapped up my season in previous post. Red sediment. This site had easy access, a nice boat launch and we used the motorized fishing boat since the lake was big. We sent some of the venison to Kramarczuck's. To get processed into sausage. It turned out amazingk. Hiking up the St. Louis River in my neighborhood. Carved up the pumpkins that grew in our yard. Fall time in Foley at Jon's farm. I'm excited to ...

Saturday, July 24, 2010. It's been a good summer. Last weekend Jon and I went to the Bicycle Film Festival, we went to the Friday, 7pm show to see The Birth of Big Air. The pond in it's infancy state, the lily pad flowers haven't come up yet. Jon on the skid loader. Then there's the fun stuff at the farm, shooting guns- all kinds, lighting off fireworks, four-wheeling, riding bikes on the county roads. Ted and I grew up with a couple of the river guides, Jay and Luke, so it was really fun having them in ...

Tuesday, March 22, 2011. I'm still on crutches, it's still not fun. My ankle is getting better, sometimes it's stiff and it moves like indexed shifting. I can put weight on the ankle, but I could be on crutches for another week. Jon and I hit up Fleet Farm yesterday. It seems like we are there almost every week. This time I found a pair of Joka polar gloves,. Monday, March 07, 2011. AD Annoyed and Disabled. Wear a sign with my story. A few days BC (Before Crutches), I went to Glen, MN. My research pr...

Friday, August 06, 2010. Recently Jon and I spent some time on Island Lake, north of Duluth, with my brother Ted and some of his friends. My Mom shows up and wanted to go intertubing. Not bad for a 74 year old lady. Her other hobbies are sewing, beading, making jewelry, supporting the family's atheltic endeavors, bingo, and many others. She's the greatest. Jon getting pulled by Matt. Jon and I have been eating pretty good lately. He gets fresh veggies from the organic garden at his job. Like Galileo Drop...
