Yes, gamma-rays and ultraviolet light can kill you, but they can also be therapeutic when applied to the right places at the right doses. Some chemotherapeutics kill cancer cells by inducing DNA damage, which is bad for the cancer, but good for you! Even DNA damage can make you stronger.
