YOU'VE GOT MAIL.ART! I'm busily working my way through a pad of K&Co fall themed paper that I bought last year. Pumpkins, apples, gourds and mums.all just around the corner! I'm using many of the tips and techniques offered by Roben-Marie Smith. I used large expandable mailers for the larger two, creating a divided storage file the recipient could use. After doing four, I used those scraps to do a block/quilt look on the 5th one. That makes me feel clever, reducing the scraps as I go. Youve Got Mail Art.

In February I signed up for Christy Tomlinson's monthly mixed media video club " The Art Society". Blog button on left) I so loved the February project that I purchased January also, which was when this club started. Now I can hardly wait for the project to come each month! This project was done on an 8x8 inch canvas. I am pleased with the texture I managed to create in the background, you don't realize how tricky that can be until you make your own attempts. BEACHY LOOK" CHALK PAINTED VINTAGE LINGERIE CHEST. Bob pulled this little lingerie chest out of his stash, he thought it might be useful for me to store my beading and jewelry supplies in. Perfect! I was really excited about this little treasure. Vintage mid-thirties to mid-forties, finely crafted of limed oak veneer with bent cedar constructed drawers. CHALK PAINTED MIRROR "ART NOUVEAU LOOK". We have had a white and gold, large oval mirror for a number of years, it came from Bob's mum. It's been in the back of my mind for years to give it some colour. This was so easy! It literally only took a few minutes with little drying time. And I LOVE it! You can see the original finish, I'm using Annie Sloan's "Antibes" in a thin wash over the top of the original finish. No prep except to dust it off! Yes I had a moment! Thank you so much! One of the Bella Creations. Groups that I moderate is "The Impressionists" where we take on a collage project each month. In April we created an Alphabet, with different artists doing individual letters. Everyone had the freedom to do as they pleased.
