Both of us found work so we had 4 weeks before we start our new work in the new place. Almost every March evening was spent packing, or tidying up the house. I have decided to start a new blog. I haven't cooked chicken curry in a long time. I followed my MIl's method and tried to reproduce her version. I used 3 chickens. This is not the recipe for those watching the waistline. August 23, 2005. Water Chestnut Cake 马蹄糕. A childhood favourite of mine, the pan fried water chestnut cake is a dim sum classic. The caramelized surface is crispy while the inside is slightly sticky and chewy. Bits of juicy water chestnut add a nice crunch and refreshing sweetness. It is quite amazing when one realises that the flour used for making the cake is water chestnut too. The same raw material and yet such difference in texture when cooked. 250g water chestnut flour.
