You Sew Nice: White Felt Hat - for grown up humans this time!
http://yousewnice.blogspot.com/2011/03/white-felt-hat-for-grown-up-humans-this.html
Thursday, March 17, 2011. White Felt Hat - for grown up humans this time! Yesterday I went into the St Vinnies store downtown on a book hunt - and came out with this gorgeous white hat. I have no idea when it dates to - it could be last week or last year, but looking at the gorgeous white and black I have decided to say that it's late 60's/early 70's - so that I can imagine some ridiculously hip girl with big black bubble sunglasses and a swinging trench coat. What do you think? Brooches for White Hat.

You Sew Nice: Bah Humbug.
http://yousewnice.blogspot.com/2013/12/bah-humbug.html
Monday, December 23, 2013. That's how the thinking goes, anyway - and every single time I do this, after. This blamed elephant only has four legs, but as of this evening I've sewn on seven feet and redesigned a trunk AND a purple elephant posterior. Mr Tabubil, my dear husband and helpmeet, thinks the situation’s hysterical. I’ve no comment. But my story has a brand new chapter. It's called "Valentina the Elephant visits the La Brea Tar Pits." It's very. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

All doll-and-sewing-related activities went on Splendid Hiatus at the end of June when Mr Tabubil and I relocated from Whyalla in rural South Australia, to the teeming and tumultuous metropolis of Santiago, Chile. I'm getting along swimmingly, and only stop for cascading confusions of "Que? Two or three times a week! But now I'm back in action, thank you very much. You Sew Nice: The Inadvertent Hat of Cracktastic 80s Wedding Fabulousness
http://yousewnice.blogspot.com/2010/08/inadvertent-hat-of-cracktastic-80s.html
Wednesday, August 11, 2010. The Inadvertent Hat of Cracktastic 80s Wedding Fabulousness. Late last night as I finished sewing the orange ribbon roses for this hat I had one of those moments of horrible realization - my little 1860s doll hat: intended to be all Halloween-y and macabre-like, had turned into a wedding headband - from 1986. Th is hat is. The perfect accompaniment to the sort of tulle-and-sequin explosion that they used to design specifically for thrift store windows. The orange hat-band and ...

You Sew Nice: Fire and Ice: Part 5 - The Dress!!
http://yousewnice.blogspot.com/2011/05/fire-and-ice-part-5-dress.html
Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Fire and Ice: Part 5 - The Dress! I woke up on Saturday morning, took the bustle skirt off of Sally's shoulders and sighed hugely - the tapes were way too short and the apron attachment to cover the zipper at the central back looked absurd - it was far too small to be rucked up with tapes of its own. So I unpicked the tapes in the apron and lengthened everything by 100 percent. It works. The Dress looking Splendid:. Lots of sideways yumminess:. It was like Niagara. I jumped b...
