Kind of like the art fairs in Miami, only much much smaller. It’s only one venue (well, two if you count ArtLA, but I don’t), instead of a dozen (ish). But what the heck, this is what we got. We have had enough bad stuff going on with the recession, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, political polarization in the U.S.A.the earthquake in Haiti and on and on. Unassorted poetry by dutch visual artist and art critic ralf kwaaknijd. rhyme nor sense, beyond taste lies my target. Monday, February 9, 2009. One pale day chasing steeples. I fell into the fjord. A sailboat passed, its people. Would not take me aboard. I called their name out, to be saved. And in reply they kindly waved. And some of them did wave some more. And kindly watch me swim ashore. Title: Challenger, Mix Media on board from her series Nostalgia. Is a grad her at UNT. Nice work. Surrealistic, but new. I didn't want to right out and say Surrealism, but your right, the work does reference those artists, but she is taking those ideas and moving into a new world. I think it helps that like all of us, she is more removed from Sigmund Freud.
