Project Carp: October 2006
http://carpjournal.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 09, 2006. This weekend I spent the weekend near Bewdley in the hope of fishing the River Severn. The situation when we reached Bridgenorth looked hopeful. The Severn was up but not too high so we got to base camp in high spirits and started knocking a few rigs together for the following morning. Not ideal conditions but we proved that barbel are catchable when the river is in flood. Posted by CarpCatcher at 11:16 AM. Manchester, United Kingdom. I'm a Graphic Designer by trade so I'm busy ...

Project Carp: June 2006

Monday, June 26, 2006. Lemington Lakes, Moreton-in-the-Marsh. This week i'm off to Lemington Lakes. I've ordered some mixed pellets and groundbait from The Bait and Feed Company. So i can pump some bait in and get the swim fizzing. The key, I think, is to be adaptable as you never know what conditions will greet you. One of the bonuses of Lemington Lake is that they serve up a great breakfast for you, so i'll be taking advantage of this throughout the weekend! Posted by CarpCatcher at 10:46 AM. A little ...

Project Carp: May 2006

Tuesday, May 23, 2006. A message to the rain gods. Please, please stop raining and let us have a period of dry weather. You could even let us see what the sun is like! Yes, it's still raining buckets and it's not really stopped. On Saturday I decided to go fishing even though it was raining hard. If you don't carry on doing things then you'll never get anything done so I wasn't going to pass n another weekend without fishing. A few minutes after casting in, the lillies moved and I knew a fish was in the ...

Project Carp: September 2006
http://carpjournal.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 29, 2006. Bannister Farm Fishery, Nr Southport. Since my earlier posts i've since ditched the alarms and heavy rods and decided to purchase a margin pole. Even when I was fishing in with the carp tackle I would concentrate my feed and rigs in the margins, rather than hoofing a lead across a lake. Pole fishing is all new to me but the idea of fishing a bit lighter and catching different species was what made my mind up. Both occassions I fished double maggot into the margins but kept the...
