filmzblog: This Too Is Afghanistan
http://filmzblog.blogspot.com/2010/11/this-too-is-afghanistan.html
This Too Is Afghanistan. A week ago we received our first guest photographer submission from a photographer who prefers to go by the name evanistan. And who lives and works for an Non-Government Organization in Afghanistan. Needless to say I was floored. In my correspondence with evanistan I told him that what I like so much about this series of images is that they are a window into a side of Afghanistan that most Americans have never seen. I live and work in Afghanistan. It is fascinating and wonderful.

http://filmzblog.blogspot.com/2010/12/marfa-tx-take-two-by-zach.html
Marfa, Tx - Take Two, by Zach. Last month was filled with several vacations for me. Not only was it great to celebrate the end of wedding season with a much needed trip to San Francisco for a few days, but I also got to venture out to Marfa, Texas for the first time to celebrate Thanksgiving with my girlfriend. We even brought the pup. There are many homes simply falling apart in Marfa. The photograph below is the front of a house; however, the entire backside is missing. And of course I can't shoot a ro...

Well for starters she's the managing editor of THE mother of all independent woman positive*. Wedding blogs: Offbeat Bride. AND she is an awesome photographer in her own right. She runs her own wedding photography. Taken in San Pedro, a palm tree with a sun flare. On my way from San Pedro I tried to snap a picture from und...

filmzblog: We Had A Time
http://filmzblog.blogspot.com/2010/12/we-had-time.html
We Had A Time. We had a really great party. At least I thought so. It was kind of overwhelming. We showed some photographs, some of our own, and outside (see above) we had some 'best of' Disposable Day submissions hanging from a clothes line that folks could view with that adorable freaking lantern. Some truly awesome solo acts played. No, I mean really: truly awesome. This is a really good show! And Zach said "See? People enjoyed Amelia's whiskey drinks,. And the sweet music. I was blown away. Was the h...

filmzblog: The Folk Behind Filmzblog
http://filmzblog.blogspot.com/2010/10/folk-behind-filmzblog.html
The Folk Behind Filmzblog. I love photography, but by trade I'm really a computer scientist. That means I spend most of my day drinking coffee, making statistical models, and typing into black boxes on computer screens. And, believe it or not, I really love that sort of thing. But I gotta give some love to my right brain as well - and for me, that love comes in the form of photography. Most of my recent photography has been digital - I maintain a blog of my cameraphone photos. Which led me to becoming a.
