Decade 1 - Secret Squirrel

My real life, without my real name). I just watched the Y2K episode of Sports Night. In which Jeremy claims that the complete system failure during his Y2K test is a metaphor for the new millenium. So it's been ten years (! I can think of a few obvious, colossally bad things about the 21st century so far. What are some good things? What things are better now than they were ten years ago? I ask this to spark discussion, not because I think there aren't any. Posted on Dec. 28th, 2009 at 09:36 am. But I'm s...

A Simple Way To Go Faster Than Light That Does Not Work. Thats awful high, Jason. Thats awful high. Mar 8th, 2006. I was eatin Thai food tonight and thinkin, you know what would be awesome? Seriously, think of it: all the fightin' characters from the novels tend to be very colorful, favor unique weapons and fighting styles, and if they don't really have catchphrases then you can darn well think of some approrpiate ones for each of them. It would rock. Don't you want to see Ilyn Payne vs. Jaime? Filmed gr...

Friday is a Day for Loving - No No Ojou-chan!

Friday is a Day for Loving. Nov 14th, 2008 at 10:51 AM. I have an angry post about Prop 8 and Blacks, but I'm going to put it aside for Friday updates and good vibes. We could always use some good vibes today right? I am so hooked on the Jennifer Robeson Cheysuli books. Sometimes they're sexist and racist, but they're so fucking addictive! What are you reading? A towel. That's not meant to be sexy, it's just the truth. But hey it *is* a purple towel. TMI anyone? Keeps Gettin' Better -. I hereby pledge th...

The Cincinnati Puzzles - Part 1 - squonk npl. 10:26 pm June 10th, 2010. The Cincinnati Puzzles - Part 1. Just got back from the Advanced Placement grading session in Cincinnati, OH. Things went much better last year, although that isn't saying much. I was in charge of grading the alternate computer science exam - the one students take as a make-up if they have some sort of conflict. We had 889 exams to grade and six people to do it. And we finished two days early. Whoo-hoo! 1998 Best Actress winner for.

Guess Who Has Some Notes on the Drawing Conclusions Game? Guess Who Has Some Notes on the Drawing Conclusions Game? Laquo; previous entry. Next entry ». Jul 16th, 2009 06:57 pm. Game production had its ups and downs- I learned the challenges of printing on vellum with a cheap inkjet printer. I found some test solvers to help evaluate the drawing and trivia components of the game, but relied on my instincts for the big picture. Jul 17th, 2009 03:27 am (UTC). Jul 17th, 2009 05:01 am (UTC). The Most Beautiful Things. According to Mike Selinker. Thing of the past. The most beautiful song for the new revolution: The Walls Came Down. Nov 26th, 2011 at 5:55 PM. The Walls Came Down," The Call's declaration of war against the military-industrial complex off its 1983 album. They'd all been warned. And the walls came down." More than any other song of protest, "The Walls Came Down" spelled out the consequences of not listening to the disenfranchised. And "I Still Believe". And the human microphone.

Those of you playing along at home might remember that during the wee hours of the morning during this year's MIT Mystery Hunt, I found myself cornered in the hallway being convinced to run an upcoming puzzle event. On Saturday my team ran DASH 4(th): Apocalypse Now. For those of you not in the know DASH. And indeed, having now produced a DASH I stand by my assertion that this is a fabulous way for a team to gain some game control experience without having to commit to doing everything all at once.
