福興宮 西螺媽祖
雍正元年 1723 舖 戶出資建廟於西螺 街頭。 並在乾隆三十五年 1770 由首事廖尚德、林 倉光、鄭氏和等西螺仕紳協議，遷建新廟於西螺街 街肚。 同治八年 1869 ，宮宇已成老態，地方仕紳五品職員廖輝煌、五品銜布政司理問廖振元、貢生李超英等人倡議重修福興宮，重建工程至同治十三年 1874 始告完成。 明治四十一年 1908 ，廖本源、廖一枝、李品三、廖正乙等，基於本宮後殿破漏腐塌，稟文政府單位，獲准募款重修，翌年 1909 完成整修煥然一新。 經歷數十年滄桑風雨，福興宮復呈傾頹，地方士紳於民國五十年 1961 組織 福興宮修建委員會 ，決議進行募款重建，在十一月二十七日破土興工。 西螺媽祖源自康熙五十六年 1717 明海師父從湄洲奉請來台，原先巡狩、護佑轄域西螺保五十三庄，光陰延綿近三百年，信仰區域擴大至西螺鎮、莿桐鄉、林內鄉、崙背鄉、二崙鄉、虎尾鎮、斗六市、彰化縣溪州等鄉鎮，乃成 螺陽迎太平 媽祖繞境出巡的遼闊區域。 目前保存完善的建築物，有金玉成商行 鐘樓 、螺陽齒科、捷發乾記茶莊 歷史建築 、安源商店、老聖行等等，值得各地民眾仔細品味。 電話 05-5865490 傳真 05-5882775.

Friday, February 19, 2010. Bukit Larut or formerly known as Maxwell Hill. A Little History and Facts. There is limited places for food, the Bukit Larut Cafe and the Cendana Hut Cafe. We did not try the Bukit Larut Cafe's food because other bloggers have not very good reviews of their food. The menu in Cendana Cafe is very limited but at least they are quite good.
