L, Em and N. Tuesday, May 19, 2009. We headed to Grand Forks for one night after being in Winkler for a little family getaway. We spent a night at the Lakeview Inn and Suites, which was nice because it was cheap ( coupons here :-. But the highlight was definitley finding the Sherlock Forest Playground. Luke- ready for the water! Emma sittin in her whale. There were these cool swings. Emma loved swinging and would giggle everytime she got close to me. This is from the toddler area looking towards the front.

So I think I should get a certificate or something in "Cabinet Assembly", I could do it pretty much in my sleep by now. The nice thing about IKEA is that they are all put together exactly the same way. So once you do one, you're good. Nath working on the plumbing while under supervision. L, Em and N. Wednesday, June 16, 2010. Life during the reno. So our cabinets were installed at the end of April, and we have been waiting for our countertops since then. It is going on 7 weeks now. We decided to go with this guy because it was something different, he does concrete overlay and solid concrete. And so we decided on the overlay because you get the look of stone for the price of laminate. I'm not sure that was such a good idea any more. I know I've mentioned it before, but E is a climber.

I was asked to do this cake by a friend who was throwing a surprise 50th for her young at heart mom. The theme was "aged like a fine wine" and I thought it was great that each guest brought a bottle as a gift. She'll be well stocked till next year, lucky girl. My signature Reeses chocolate cake with a few extras. I tried working with gumpaste, isomalt and covering a cake board for this one.

I couldn't make it to the baby shower but hope they enjoyed the treat. Fondant robot boy playing fetch robot style. Thade does really have a dog. I have a feeling they'll be best buds. L, Em and N. Monday, March 30, 2009. Saturday: The boys had a birthday party, and we went to their cousin's for supper and playing. I made a carrot cake for dessert, which I added a few embellishments too. Sunday: Church and then Oma and Opa came over for Brunch. From there the boys went to the Moose game and the girls went to the Orchid Show at the Conservatory. It sure felt like spring in there!
