Some years – we run out of donuts before the last runner crosses the line – and the fresh fruit is virtually untouched. Other years, it’s just the granola bars, yogurt and other healthy stuff that flies off the table – and the race volunteers go home with boxes of cookies and sweets. May 15, 2011 at 11:53 PM.

I asked myself what makes a great running event (and how can continue to improve Take the Lake 5K? I came up with a short list of things I consider.
