Taking Life Seriously

My year at Rhodes. Posted by Brad Janssen at 11:47 PM. My first year at Rhodes was honestly, the best year of my life. From sport to friends to a new environment, it was amazing. And thinking back I actually miss it as we start t head into exams. The experiences that I have had are difficult to find anywhere else. Where else can you go out, get drunk and walk home in South Africa, without being mugged, kidnapped or killed by drunken drivers. Let’s make next year a million times better. Links to this post.

Taking Life Seriously: The final trip to the Rat

http://takinglifeseriously.blogspot.com/2008/10/final-trip-to-rat.html

The final trip to the Rat. Posted by Kyle Robinson at 10:28 PM. The principle thing to look forward to is generally universal: the beach. Yeah, baby! Good luck with the exams. Never forget to not get too serious and stressed out. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My year at Rhodes. Getting lost in PA. The final trip to the Rat. Random hook-ups in the Union. The Road Less Travelled. Studying in the library. Comment on an opinion piece. A compulsory comment, surprise surprise. The Rat - its evil!

My Opinion Piece (not to be Mys-tooken for a random blog post). Posted by Siobhan Rosenfels at 8:59 PM. Taking Life Seriously: Life long friends

http://takinglifeseriously.blogspot.com/2008/10/life-long-friends.html

Posted by Brad Janssen at 11:07 PM. This is my last post I need to make tonight and I actually have nothing to talk about. So I am going to tell you a bit of a story. I grew up in the overrated, over done and unique community on Johannesburg. I am not proud of this but what can I do, it is not my fault. Luckily though there are places to escape and one of those escapes involved one of the wildest motorbike rides I have ever done. This ride however, made a life long friendship. Although everything was goi...

Taking Life Seriously: Studying in the library

http://takinglifeseriously.blogspot.com/2008/10/studying-in-library.html

Studying in the library. Posted by Kyle Robinson at 8:50 PM. Today I tried out studying in the library. Everyone has been telling me that studying in the library is so much fun because you get loads of work done. They say there aren't the distractions that cruelly tempt you away from your studies. Some read, some highlight, some make...

The Keffiyeh: Modern Symbol of Hipster Ignorance. Posted by Nich Mulgrew at 11:22 AM. The keffiyeh, for those that don’t know, is an Arab headdress for men, usually woven with a distinctive check pattern and lined with knotted tassels. It may not sound familiar, but trust me, you’ve seen one before: Yasser Arafat wore one, Lupe Fiasco wears them, and chances are that one third of postmodernism-loving Rhodes BA students wear them on a regular basis. Dunno what a keffiyeh is? Bloody look it up. Because the...

An arean to gain perspective and contentment and to share experiences, writing and opinions. Wednesday, October 15, 2008. This poem needs no introduction or explanation it speaks for itself. Its meaning is versatile, decide for yourself and what part of your deepest alienation it touches. I am here,. Or do you not see me? Sometimes, i feel like you don't. I pretend I don't know.
