musings in mayhem: July 2011
http://musingsinmayhem.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Writer, mom, tutor, superwoman. Sunday, July 31, 2011. A few highlights, low key. Pretty low key weekend, but we found a watermelon growing in the cukes. Toots had a haircut on Friday, but with the humidity, you would never know. Many women in the salon pleaded for a head of hair with her natural caramel highlights and those curls. Of course, they don't have to comb them out three times a day. I do, or dreadlocks. It was too hot to even blow bubbles, but we did. I'm really ready for the boys to come home.

musings in mayhem: April 2011
http://musingsinmayhem.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Writer, mom, tutor, superwoman. Friday, April 29, 2011. Yes, I woke up to watch the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate. I'm awake before six in the morning anyway, as the boys get up to get ready for school every morning. Just typically, I remain in bed a while longer doing that mom wants to sleep just a while longer but has one ear open to what's going on in the house. Just turn my eyes into waterfalls. Mr Cynic and Captain Comic peppered me with royal family questions. Ruler of the British Empire.

musings in mayhem: oops, i did it again
http://musingsinmayhem.blogspot.com/2011/09/oops-i-did-it-again.html
Writer, mom, tutor, superwoman. Monday, September 12, 2011. Oops, i did it again. And the lesson I wanted to pass on to you? Yea, I haven't quite learned it yet. Second service's rendition of the Brahms went much much better. It was beautiful. Then I trotted over to the other building, stopping at my van to switch from the cute new heels (first pair I've worn in ages because the ankle finally felt like I could for a few hours) into my everyday flipflops. I did get up, but maybe I shouldn't have. The choi...

musings in mayhem: February 2011
http://musingsinmayhem.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Writer, mom, tutor, superwoman. Monday, February 28, 2011. Superwoman has left the building. See that caption under my blog title? I'm not feeling very superwoman of late. I have two weeks. My goal was to complete the manuscript by mid-March, Maybe I should make my personal deadline the Ides of March for certain, although with Julius Caesar's history, I'd like something a bit less forboding. But I'll still take care of the laundry. It needs it bad. Links to this post. Friday, February 25, 2011. I have a ...

musings in mayhem: September 2011
http://musingsinmayhem.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Writer, mom, tutor, superwoman. Friday, September 30, 2011. Spiders and bugs and shrooms, oh my. I'm not certain I'll ever get used to south coastal Virginia seasons. We have long stretches of no rain, but threatening rain, but nope, still no rain, and just when we give up and water the garden after all, rain. For days and days and then muggy muggy muggy still in the 80s, and it's fall. One day, a couple of weeks ago, we had a big yellow and black garden spider building a web on our deck. Toots misse...

musings in mayhem: May 2011
http://musingsinmayhem.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Writer, mom, tutor, superwoman. Tuesday, May 31, 2011. In the meantime, Memorial Day weekend was a blur, and only two events did I have the kids involved. Otherwise, Mr. Cynic pretty much spent the long weekend babysitting. I already mentioned Friday night in the my last post, and Sunday night included two seatings for a Lynda Carter show at the Virginia Arts Festival. She had a great band filled with Hall of Fame musicians, including Blue Lou Marini. The neighborhood pool opened for the season! When I h...

musings in mayhem: ode to the red sox
http://musingsinmayhem.blogspot.com/2011/09/ode-to-red-sox.html
Writer, mom, tutor, superwoman. Thursday, September 29, 2011. Ode to the red sox. Oh, my Sox, I’m loathe to say,. Have broken my heart another day. 2011 season’s sudden and bitter fall,. In all estimation, is the worst of baseball. The Spring, per usual, was lacking grace,. But fortitude steeled upon every fan’s face. Papi’s homers sang past the Green Monster. And Gonzalez surprised with his hutzpah. Pedroia and Ellsbury, ah my boys, are. The hardest working players in pro ball. Team like no other. While...

musings in mayhem: March 2011
http://musingsinmayhem.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Writer, mom, tutor, superwoman. Wednesday, March 30, 2011. Planting in the rain. I bought these and a couple of pretty and perfumey plants yesterday, as well as some dark tarp to try to kill off weeds in my garden plots before I try to plant. This morning, I planted the flowers in pots I bought as it started to sprinkle. It's raining properly again now, and frigid, too. I spread the viola packet along under the boxwoods and holly out front. I can't wait to watch the colors come up. Links to this post.
