About the Band and Community. The Band is currently finalizing their Strategic Plan. It will be available once ratified. Our Chief and Council are elected for a 4 year period. During this transition period Councillor Dawn George and Wilma Abraham have been elected for a 2 year term. The traditional territory of the Takla First Nation is located in North Central British Columbia, and totals approximately 27,250 square kilometres. The territory is a rich environment of lakes, rivers, forests and mountains, bordered on the west by the Skeena Mountains and on the east by the Rocky Mountains. BEAR LAKE (FORT CONNELLY).
