What is tadoku?: tadoku
http://tadoku.livejournal.com/291.html
The advantages of this are:. 1) It's really painful to read at a slow pace. You work for an hour or two, and the story hasn't gotten anywhere yet, so it's boring. 2) Especially with idiomatic expressions and words that don't have an exact English equivalent, you'll understand the word better if you glance at it eight or nine times in different contexts than if you see it once and look it up and put it on a flash card. 5) Research points to the effectiveness of tadoku. Will post more on this later. We wil...

獣の奏者1 上橋菜穂子: tadoku
http://tadoku.livejournal.com/2351.html
Title: 獣の奏者1 (Kemono no Souja 1). Author: 上橋菜穂子 Uehashi Nahoko. Reading level: Upper elementary. All kanji have furigana, but Uehashi uses a pretty rich vocabulary. Speaking of anime adaptations, the first episode of this one airs tonight on NHK. When all the "fangs" (the front-line troops) among the battle serpents suddenly die, Soyon is suspected of their murder and sentenced to death. By the way, Uehashi Nahoko is also the author of the "Moribito" series, which is being published in English.

Shin no hanabi (. I like military thrillers, for that I like. 晴敏, I liked. のイージス a lot. He tends to have similar conspiracies in his books, but that was a nice example. I also like mysteries, with detective work involved as well as the crime, so I like quite a few of. 部みゆき books, among them. Quite liked the last one, it's 800 pages though). She writes books set in the modern day AND books set in. You maybe want to start with the modern-day ones. I like 東野圭吾, particularly I enjoyed. 耀 Basically a giant vo...

To introduce mysef, belatedly:. My name is Emily, and I've been studying Japanese for at least ten years. (I'm starting to lose count.) I passed JLPT 1 last year, and also moved to New York, where at last I can find Japanese books! In my real life I'm a librarian and writer, and I really, really like Bump of Chicken and Shiina Ringo. My favorite Japanese writer is Murakami Haruki. Post a new comment. Anonymous comments are disabled in this journal. We will log you in after post. Post a new comment.

今読んでる本と自己紹介: tadoku
http://tadoku.livejournal.com/1250.html
This is what I'm currently reading:. Just what the title says - mystery stories coming from world history. There are 5 chapters with different themes (assassination, people disappearing, etc.) with about 10 stories in each chapter. The stories are self-contained and no more than 3-5 pages long, which makes it easy to read a whole story in one sitting. Also wanted to let you guys know about this site:. Http:/ www.aozora.gr.jp/. Bought my camera - My journal. 14 June 2007 @ 08:11 pm. It was inevitable. It was calling to me. It was the last one at B&H. If any of you have flickr accounts, tell me and you can be my friends on there! Then I can update all the time like I do my blog and DeviantArt! Which is to say, of course. never. But I have good intentions for now! And I definitely want to get better at this picture-taking thing, so c&c is of course welcome! 3 comments Leave a comment. On June 15th, 2007 01:14 am (UTC).

jobby jobby job! - My journal
http://meaghanchan.livejournal.com/44426.html
06 March 2007 @ 08:14 am. My job ended on Friday (end of the season of the show we were working on) but I wanted to tell everyone that I got a new job yesterday! I don't want to say too much because I'm not sure if I can (haven't read the contract yet, that's going to happen sometime today) but suffice it to say that I am thrilled I'm not going to be spending the next 8 months unemployed! Plus it seems like a fun job, and there are a lot of cool people there. Which only leaves today to:. No lag at all!

Power, Scapegoats, and the Mortgage Debacle - My journal. 25 September 2008 @ 08:01 am. Power, Scapegoats, and the Mortgage Debacle. Yes, I never post. When I do, it's about me me me and never anything important. Today, I have something to say. But that's not even what this post is about. In the category of arguments against it, I keep hearing "I don't want to bail out the people who spent too much for a house! Why should I be punished for their foolishness? And the bank says 'sure! Expecting people to b...

Books read, early July - Barnstorming on an Invisible Segway. Books read, early July. Jul 19th, 2015 06:27 am. So…we have a Little Free Library in our next door neighbors’ yard, and Tim mentioned that it had a hockey fantasy in it. That is my wheelhouse! The Story of Owen, Dragon Slayer of Trondheim. LOVE THIS SO MUCH. It’s the story of a dragon slayer in modern small-town/rural Ontario. The alternate history bits are endearing and lovely. (Buddy Holly! The Red Wings logo! The Story of Owen.
