http://www.talesofteachingwithtech.com/2015_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 14, 2015. Holiday Time in the Classroom: Frosty Frenzy. Polar Express parties are THE HOTTEST THING. right now on IG and Pinterest. I of course wanted to do one in my classroom because we are use The Polar Express as a mentor text for mentor sentences this week. But I realized. A) Polar Express is not on Netflix or Amazon Prime (boooo! B) It was close to a two hour movie and C) I usually like to put a spin on things. I made this flyer. Up to add extra hype to the special Frosty Frenzy.
Tales of Teaching with Tech: 5 FREE Math Websites
http://www.talesofteachingwithtech.com/2016/01/5-free-math-websites.html
Friday, January 22, 2016. 5 FREE Math Websites. I do math rotations in my classroom. (Hands down the best way to reach all the needs of my students) I do four rotations, Teacher Time, Lesson Work, Tech Time and Game Time. I teach 1:1 and one of top tips I would suggest is MIX THINGS UP! My third graders can get "bored" quickly. so I keep rotating my Tech Time websites. So these are approved and tested in my classroom daily! The first website I would like to showcase is FRONTROW. Is a great website where ...

Teaching in a tech-focused school district for three years ago, I feel like I have been exposed to a lot of great online resources. BUT ARE THEY WORTH THE $ $? IS IT WORTH IT? This is my second year using Manga High and my students LOVE IT! We use Manga High for our K-8 school district. MH is a game-based platfor...

Also gave me the idea to use Checkiday. To find the different daily holidays. Sprinkle in a bit of randomness in your day! Friday, September 11, 2015. I foun...

Saturday, October 25, 2014. 2 Months in One Blog Post :). This school year has been hectic to say the least. Between lesson planning, data analysis, conferences, more data, and lots of weddings, I have seriously slacked on my blog. I don't even know if I have many readers, but here is the past few months of my life. Here are some snippets of activities we've done thus far. My students love scoot. So much that my ELA teacher started incorporating it into her editing process. October was a big wedding mont...

Sparkling in Seventh: Lung Capacity
http://sparklinginseventh.blogspot.com/2014/12/lung-capacity.html
Sunday, December 7, 2014. How much air can your lungs hold? This is what my seventh graders investigated on Thursday. They took a deep breath, and blew that one breath into a balloon, measured the diameter, and used a graph to convert CM to L. They loved it! Here are some pictures of my crazy kids, who posed just for you guys! Blowing up his balloon. He wanted to make a funny face. Finding the diameter of the balloon. I am in the process of uploading this to TPT if you want to do this lab.

Sparkling in Seventh: A Productive Veterans Day
http://sparklinginseventh.blogspot.com/2014/11/a-productive-veterans-day.html
Tuesday, November 11, 2014. A Productive Veterans Day. My husband had to work all day today while I had the day off. I got a TON accomplished, including 2 weeks of lesson planning, laundry, and 20 freezer meals made today. The meals I prepped in just 1 hour are:. It's a relief when you know you have a busy day ahead that you'll have a nice, home cooked meal to come home to. Here's what the freezer in the kitchen looks like. I'm glad I still have room for other items. Don't forget to thank a veteran today!

Monday, September 1, 2014. Labor Day Made It! Needless to say, that day was pure craziness and I was in bed early Friday night. :). Saturday was spent having breakfast with my hubby at our favorite spot and lounging around. We spent some time at the pool, and watched the Indiana Jones marathon on Spike. I used a miter saw to cut them. There were bits of paper everywhere! I am excited to set these up tomorrow with the kiddos! I'm off to get some hibachi food! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). http://sparklinginseventh.blogspot.com/2014/11/life-in-room-e121.html
Wednesday, November 5, 2014. Life in Room E121. MY BLOG DESIGN IS ALMOST DONE! I got the proofs for the headers today, and they look AMAZING! I can't want to see the final product! Today feels like a Monday, even though it's Wednesday. I'm not complaining, though! We had a 1/2 day Monday, and 32/98 kids were absent. That was fun. After the kids left, we had a PD. It was nice to get to leave at 2:30. :). Today my kids started a human body project. I broke the kids into 11 groups of 2-3 students and assign...

Tales Of Teaching In Heels
Friday, August 14, 2015. I hate waiting. I'm very impatient ;). I got my fingerprinting done yesterday, and dropped off the form with HR. By the way, fingerprinting in Texas is different than fingerprinting in California. For one, they took my picture, for two, it was at a gun range/shooting range place. In CA it was at an agency or notary office building, not a gun range :) But at least it's done. It's just weird not having my own classroom. All that stuff. Made me miss them and teaching. I think I've f...

Tales of Tech
Well, more like tales of life. But the greater part of my waking hours are about tech, hence this title. Sunday, July 26, 2015. Accessing MS SQL databases from classic ASP. I am writing a CMS (content management system) in classic ASP using Microsoft's JScript language (a server-side language based on ECMAScript3) with a database in Microsoft's MS SQL. First of all, you start by instantiating an ADO connection object as follows. Next, connect to the database using a connection string. Https:/ social....
