Rocks in my Pockets: November 2008
http://rocksinpockets.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 21, 2008. And this is how I spent my Friday night! Wednesday, November 12, 2008. Here is something Marie did in about third grade. She is the linguistic and artistic prodigy of the family. Here is something that I drew circa 1990. My pictures were always of happy people and rainbows. The things that look like polka-dotted rocks are either dogs or spotted kittens. That very well-drawn bird is the work of my sister, who always had better fine motor skills than me. Rocks in my Pockets: February 2009
http://rocksinpockets.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 1, 2009. Claire Bear Wakes Up. I have been in hibernation for the last couple of months, in terms of blogging and other activities. But today, the sun came out and it's 60 degrees and now that spring is allllllmost here, it's time to get back in the swing of things. There are a lot of things that are new this year. We have adopted a puppy! I might post before/after pictures if unsqueamish people want to see them. What else can I say? I love our new president almost. Things That I Love.

FAQs I Hope Are Asked. French Onion Soup for the Soul. May 22, 2012 by dianeswords. So, what’s they hype on onions? Http:/ www.vegetarian-nutrition.info/updates/onions.php. Early American settlers used wild onions to treat colds, coughs, and asthma, and to repel insects. In Chinese medicine, onions have been used to treat angina, coughs, bacterial infections, and breathing problems. Onion extracts, rich in a variety of sulfides, provide some protection against tumor growth. In central Georgia where V...

Rocks in my Pockets: Giving Plants Another Chance
http://rocksinpockets.blogspot.com/2009/06/giving-plants-another-chance.html
Saturday, June 6, 2009. Giving Plants Another Chance. Some of you know about my relationship with plants. It's very unhealthy. I don't like them because most of them make me sneeze, and they don't like me because I kill them accidentally. This is not the only plant I've murdered. Maybe you remember last summer, when I went on a plant killing spree at two homes where I house-sat. I really don't have the best track record with plants. Well, all of that is changing! Holy moly, I grew something!

Rocks in my Pockets: September 2008
http://rocksinpockets.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 29, 2008. And I didn't get the next cheapest because the label said Deodorant. With an accent over the e. And now for something completely different, I hope you all have watched Katie Couric interviewing Sarah Palin! If not, look it up on cbsnews.com because that is some quality entertainment! I'd like to end this post with a delightful conversation I had with a four-year-old at work. He was washing his hands at the sink when he said. Hey, this water smells like watermelon! Well I haven...

Rocks in my Pockets: You Betcha I'm Thrilled!
http://rocksinpockets.blogspot.com/2009/07/you-betcha-im-thrilled.html
Sunday, July 5, 2009. You Betcha I'm Thrilled! I have really, really missed Sarah Palin being in the news over the last few months. So when she made her big announcement on Friday, I immediately resumed my election season habit of switching between all the cable news channels on TV while tracking the latest online news reports on my laptop. Today I signed up for a CNN email alert for any story containing the word "Palin." I am hooked! Here is one of my favorite parts of her weird speech on Friday:. Thing...

Rocks in my Pockets: June 2008
http://rocksinpockets.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 22, 2008. You know how they say the sense of smell is the closest sense connected to memory? I think sound must be the second closest. Hearing certain songs reminds me of where I was and how I felt at some point in the past - past boyfriends, past trips, etc. For instance, anytime I listen to the Decemberists I get all nostalgic for when I lived in Portland and it makes me think, "Maybe I shouldn't have left.". Thursday, July 31, 2008. Kelly Pt. II. I will let the picture do the talking. But I will say that I love this bird! Nice vs. Rude? I stumbled upon a website today that really bugs me. It's called Nice Critic. And it is a way for a person to send an anonymous message to someone else through email to give them helpful advice without embarrassing the sender or the recipient of the message. Please consider wearing a more updated tie.". It looks like it's time for a new mailbox.". Monday, July 28, 2008. The b...

Rocks in my Pockets: Cannibalism!
http://rocksinpockets.blogspot.com/2009/06/cannibalism.html
Saturday, June 20, 2009. I am house sitting again for the "chicken house" - although this summer they've also added guinea pigs and ducks to the mix. That brings the grand total of animals to 30 - counting the fish, parakeets, cats, and Buddy, the cute little dog that tinkles on his front paw every time he pees. Today, though, I went to check the mail and happened upon something right out of National Geographic! June 24, 2009 at 12:52 AM. July 17, 2009 at 9:09 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Rocks in my Pockets: Puppies!!
http://rocksinpockets.blogspot.com/2009/07/puppies.html
Saturday, July 25, 2009. We got another puppy a couple of weeks ago! Her name is Trixie - she's the white one. The "brindle" dog is Rhoda, who we adopted in January. They have become BFFs, although Trixie seems to be amused by chomping down on Rhoda's ear as they run around the yard together. Rhoda has been very patient so far. In other news, my humble little bunch of orange flowers has totally exploded into a jungle of cosmos! These 2 pups look very happy. September 25, 2009 at 12:40 AM. Chattanooga, TN...
