One interesting tidbit about being rated 50th in the nation is that the 2009 ranking is based upon 2008 data and the 2008 ranking is based upon 2007 data. I hear Trustees and former Trustees blaming this on budget cuts. That is not so. It’s just bad leadership. These are mostly 20 year bonds (if I can believe what they told me). It is estimated that among the more than 13,000 homeless individuals in the Valley, more than 400 of them are children, according to CCSD. They're either living in shelters, cars, parks or RVs.
