Kelly to the max!: What you need for speed*, part 1
http://kellyhudson.blogspot.com/2014/10/what-you-need-for-speed-part-1.html
Kelly to the max! A personal blog. Because I said so. What you need for speed*, part 1. Your definition of "speed" may vary. A couple weeks ago, I mentioned gearing up for the Hudepohl 14K. And it made me think about all the stuff. We live in a world of FitBits and fitness apps, and we are constantly sold the idea that if we don't own this or that specialty piece of performance equipment, we are Doing It Wrong. What you need to start running:. A sports bra (ladies). What you need to run a 5K:. Whether it...

Kelly to the max! A personal blog. Because I said so. Flying Pig training: Eep. Facing the beginning of marathon training last week, I had Thoughts on Twitter. I ran eight miles yesterday. That's almost one-third of the way to my goal. 8212; Kelly Hudson (@kellyhudson) January 12, 2015. Here's the thing about running a marathon: I KNOW I can do it . but I don't actually BELIEVE I can do it. If that makes sense. 8212; Kelly Hudson (@kellyhudson) January 12, 2015. Kelly to the max!: Flying Pig training: The Hoth Half Marathon
http://kellyhudson.blogspot.com/2015/02/flying-pig-training-hoth-half-marathon.html
Kelly to the max! A personal blog. Because I said so. Flying Pig training: The Hoth Half Marathon. This week, winter made its presence felt in Cincinnati in the most inconvenient way possible. The skies opened up and poured buckets of snow on the city nearly every morning just before rush hour, snarling traffic and causing people to post charming Photoshops of AT-ATs invading Over-the-Rhine. And of course, I can't find any of those pictures now. ( Via. Be the snowman. BE the snowman. Your support pushed ...

Best Music 2010: Songs. As with the end of every year,. You exclaim. "Why should we trust you? You haven't even heard the new Drake, Best Coast and National albums this year! And to that I say: ".hm. Good point. Fair enough, you did your research." But shortly after I forget the entire conversation. Without further ado, here's what caught my attention in 2010, starting with the top 25 songs:. Gorillaz featuring Mos Def and Bobby Womack Plastic Beach. Meth, Ghost and Rae Wu Massacre. And Cuban Linx 2.

Best Music 2009: Albums. Morrissey Years of Refusal. This album was sort of "Moz By Numbers" but still built on the resurgence of Morrissey in the 00s. He also had a difficult 2009 (after collapsing on stage, the British press attacked his subsequent performances, calling him "bloated" among other things), and that earned him a sympathy spot. Animal Collective Merriweather Post Pavillion. Yo La Tengo Popular Songs. Wilco Wilco (The Album). I think with this pick, I was just happy to see Jeff Tweedy makin...

The 100-word Project Runway Recap: Episode 11. Wow I think I was spoiled by writing only a couple of sentences about the last 10 episodes. Coming up with 100 words for this generally cringe-inducing episode seems daunting. Guess I'll give it a whirl:. Ach The music challenge. The designers must dress each other up in a different embodiment of a randomly chosen musical style. As someone who enjoys music, it's sad to see it broken down to it's basic, dumb elements. Punk = safety pins! The designers must de...

Best Music 2010: Albums. As usual, I've procrastinated my brains out. This list, finished since year's end last year - still sums out how I was feeling at the end of 2010. I've listened to a lot more music from last year since then, and maybe, just maybe, a few of those opinions have changed. Ah, the good times. Here's that lengthy-ass disclaimer I was talking about:. First I have to rule out music that doesn't technically qualify as being released in 2010 (Charlotte Gainsbourg's excellent IRM. I don't t...
