Tamarin Tales From Peru. Because the jungle is massive. About my Blog…. The wonderful Lake Titicaca the largest high altitude body of water in the world. I finally made it to Puno in one piece. My bus did not leave Cusco until 9:30pm, and arrived the next day in Puno at 9:30am, so a full half-day of sitting in one seat and not moving! The toilet on the bus was broken, so it did not stop to let every go to the toilet for 10 HOURS (I think that the bus driver was not aware of the problem)! It was a dirtier...

Tamarin Tales From Peru. Because the jungle is massive. About my Blog…. An epic trek through the mountains to Choquequirao…. Last night I got back from a four-day hike to visit some Inca ruins known as Choquequirao (pronounced Choc-ek-kier-ou or something close to that! My guide was called Rozaleo, and he did not have a particularly good command of the English language, and to boot he was very quiet and not a good conversationalist, so it was an awkward beginning to say the least! Creatures of the night. Every night when I go to bed they start. as if they have just been waiting for me to say goodnight. In the loudest cacophony an assembly gathers just outside my window! They shout and shout at each other in the darkness, as if discussing the most important matters,. and then they go!
