March 10, 2011. So, the blog has suffered the consequences of a long, cold, boring Chicago winter. In an attempt to redeem myself, here is a brief synopsis of what has happened since.Halloween. Reese's 15-month stats: 20 lbs 6 oz, 30 1/4 in. She recognizes the nurse at the office and freaks out immediately upon seeing her. Reese and I fly home to Chicago with Reese in her very own seat. Not much happening. Reese becomes obsessed with snacking, bead necklaces, and dressing herself. Cold. Do What you Like.

October 5, 2011. Yes, I know she turned 2 over a month and a half ago. Despite that fact, here are some details. We had a mini-celebration toward the end of our Utah trip. My girl LOVES the song "Old McDonald," (you can often catch her screaming "E-I-E-I-O.sheep. E-I-E-I-O.cow. Etc, etc. at the top of her lungs) so I made her a barn cake complete with animal cupcakes. She was as excited about it as I had hoped she would be! She insisted on eating one of each kind, frosting only. 24 pounds, 34 inches.

September 30, 2010. A few days ago in the afternoon she entertained herself by making a new friend, her shadow. I was surprised how long she did it. Of course by the time I got the video camera out, she was finishing up. Man, I love this girl and all the crazy things she does to make me smile. September 29, 2010. July 23, 2011. Grandma and Grandpa sent Reese this bike last month. She was really excited to try it out and wear her new helmet. She had a lot of fun riding it until she got distracted by other things, like ants. Or the ice cream shop around the corner. Oh, well. It's been a miserable combination of heat humidity lately. May 17, 2011. We've been staying busy around here. We had a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Ahlstrom over Easter weekend. Reese was very excited for them to come visit and had so much fun with them! We went to the zoo and the aquarium and ate lots of yummy food. (If you love cinnamon rolls, you must try Ann Sather. I'm a cinnamon roll lover, and these were really, really good.). June 28, 2011. Earlier this month, we went to Arlington Park Race Track for the horse races. This the summer event for Brady's firm. My parents were in town, and they were able to go with us. It was a fun day. We bet on a few races (no luck! And Reese went to the petting zoo and on a pony ride. Happy Birthday, Brady! Reese has been walking around all day saying "Happy Birthday, Daddy! October 6, 2011. Mommy and Daddy wake up! However, after nap time one day, I was done. She got out of her crib, climbed up the changing table, opened the baby powder, and poured it EVERYWHERE. Inside drawers, on all her clothes and blankets. In her toy drawers. On her diapers. The girl was thorough. Sigh. At least her room smelled nice for a couple of days. Here's the evidence:. I had been going back and forth over the idea of getting a crib tent for a few days. (Those suckers are kind of expensive!
