The W-word. - A heart, wreathed in flame

The W-word. - A heart, wreathed in flame. The not-so-secret diary of a born-again Lokean. 15 May 2009 @ 04:14 pm. I'm an ill-tempered git at the best of times, quick to anger and supplied with a very short fuse. There are certain things, though, that will chop off that fuse altogether and set off the whole dynamite cache like a Wile. E. Coyote cartoon. One such thing would be this book. Yep, the W-word. Cue rage. A slight ache between the shoulderblades from a badly-adjusted computer chair? The short ans...

I'm facing ordeal again in a couple of months, and as you'd expect it - A heart, wreathed in flame. The not-so-secret diary of a born-again Lokean. 20 May 2009 @ 07:34 pm. I'm facing ordeal again in a couple of months, and as you'd expect it is on my mind to an increasing degree as the time gets closer. To help me process, I've been writing about ordeal work: what it is, what it's not, why do it (and why not). Maybe clear up a few common misconceptions. Firstly, what is ordeal? The second misconception i...

Speak! - A heart, wreathed in flame

A heart, wreathed in flame. The not-so-secret diary of a born-again Lokean. 24 May 2009 @ 09:25 pm. If you want to be heard, speak up. Sounds obvious, doesn't it? If you have ideas and beliefs that you think should have broader exposure, then you have to do the work of putting them out there. If you think your particular way of working could benefit other people, then share it and celebrate it. You know those other big names on the fringe that you affect to find so threatening, so overpowering? It's okay...

Whisperings of Woden and a walk in the snow. January 10th, 2010. More 'starting again' I'm afraid, but this time with a bit of momentum. A strange thing is that I've had the book for several weeks (not as long as I've had some others! I'm trying to set aside some time for this in the horarium (which is the next area I'm looking at whilst the breviary is 'bedding down'). 2010-01-10 05:54 pm (UTC). I'm so glad you are finding "whisperings" useful. :). Powered by LiveJournal.com.

December 6th, 2009. I remember being told by an old monk when I was at the abbey with which I used to be associated, that they loved having guests, but they also loved it when their guests left and returned home. This never struck me as at all 'odd', and now, more and more, I understand what he meant. Mrs P M cooked a lovely roast chicken this evening (it's handy being married to a Hestian nun! And we ate together and relaxed back into the just-us-two-ness which has become the norm. I am taken lately wit...

Haiti earthquake links - Talks to strangers. Jan 14th, 2032 11:50 pm. Has collected some useful links. NYT blog has a list. Medecins Sans Frontieres Haiti Appeal. Ps: Pat Robertson needs to die in a fucking fire. 2010-01-15 06:24 am (UTC). Fire, yes, hot fire. Gave to MSF. Here you can do a bank transfer directly, and not pay fees. I am not sure if that is possible everywhere. Thanks for posting this! 2010-01-16 05:39 am (UTC). Totally agree with you re. robertson. The man is a troll.
