Friday, February 18, 2005. Thursday was opening night of Valentango, one of the best tango events anywhere. But when I walked in the door, fashionably late, some kind of disco was playing! Christopher looked at me and asked "do you have any CD's with you? Apparently the complex and expensive sound system, which was rented, had no cables, so he couldn't hook-up his iPod. I remembered humbly the first Milonga I hosted at The Tango Center. Or if he had some emergency? It's a good lesson. The Nature of Order.

Sunday, June 26, 2005. How can a bunch of people DJ? It's a good question. I don't think it will be as wild as it sounds. This weekend, in much the way that people work the front desk, people will work the DJ station. There will be three "active people" per one-hour time slot. They'll be selected randomly from the pool. Where people meet and have fun. 我有一個問題，可能是很多想在這條寬廣又漫長的探戈旅程中前進的人，也都會有的問題。我已經(至今也仍持續)跟很多老師上過探戈課了(有些老師很好，有些則不怎麼樣)，最後，我終於稍微能掌握到一點基本技巧的訣竅，可以順利在一般的舞會裡跳舞。至少，在一個段落(tanda)結束的時候，我的舞伴不會用奇怪的眼神，或是"感謝老天終於結束了"的眼神看我。我通常都用閉式舞姿(close embrace)跳舞。我的問題是，現在的我該怎麼進步，並且不需多花額外的(至少我認為同樣的條件，和在布宜諾斯艾利斯相比，是比較貴的)私人課費用、不用去參加探戈節─又貴又很花時間、或是不用在少少又相隔很遠的工作坊(workshop)之間奔波。當然，舞會是磨練探戈技巧的好地方。但是我不能跳到一半就停下來分析自己做對或做錯。畢竟，我是去舞會享受，而不是去分析我的姿勢、重心軸、或是舞步的。在舞會裡，我只打算專注在和舞伴的關係裡。我猜想，我要問的就是：我該如何往下一階段更高深的探戈程度前進，而不需要再特別籌錢或是花光我的退休金？最後，找個舞伴一起練習和上私人課是個很棒...
