It took us 3 days an 20 hours to sail the 625 miles to the island of Santa Maria, 9 hours longer than last year, which was simply caused by lighter winds. But that way it was a bit more comfortable. We arrived to well known Vila do Porto in the early hours of Saturday, June 14. It was easy as always to enter the little marina in the dark and tie up in the same berth as last year. Dienstag, 1. Oktober 2013. After a short sailing season back in Madeira. As already hinted in the last post, back in June, we were not able to continue our annual tour of the azores, and our friends had to eventually continue on their own. After spending several weeks in Ponta Delgada, the Taniwani crew had to leave and head home for some more serious medical treatments. Sonntag, 27. Mai 2012. Selvagens to La Palma. It was getting dark when we arrived back at Selvagem Grande and for a moment we considered just to drop off our friends and leave right away. Sonntag, 13. Juli 2014. More Acores: Flores, Sao Jorge and Terceira. Now we have been in Angra for exactly a week, enjoyed the lovely town and toured the island of Terceira for two days. We had a wonderful hike up in the higher regions between volcano cones and deep in what almost seems like a rainforest, just beautiful.
