Monday, June 29, 2009. We have a new addition to our little farm (if you can even call it that). His name is Chip and he has a jaw that goes non-stop. He eats everything in his path. He is pretty big as you can see in the pictures. Anyway, here are some shots of him after Ehlana gave him a bath. We sort of had a cleaning the animals and car family night. It was fun! I want to be a general contractor in my third career. So, I have been obsessing over the right path to take with our fireplace for months. It's really out of place in the room now that the floors and paint have transformed the style. And frankly, the genius who put in the top shelf was like. dang, these window seals are in my way. Saturday, June 4, 2011. First Day on trip. We woke up around 1:00 am and got ready to leave. We packed all of our food and bags into the car and then we set off on the road at about 2:00. Toniann. And I didn't go to sleep that night so we were trying to sleep on the way to Missouri. It didn't take long to get out of Utah and at around 5:30 am we stopped at McDonald's for breakfast. We have been talking about buying this house for such a long time that lots of people think we are already in it. As it turns out, it actually IS annoying to buy a house. It seemed pretty easy when all I was doing was responding to non-stop requests for information for the first few months. But, it is. The first thing we need to do when we get the keys is tackle some safety concerns. there are 100 spider nests, some peeling (probably lead) paint, and a few missing floor boards.
